Described as contemporary Japanese dining meets sensory experience, expect to find fresh sushi, Asian-inspired hot dishes and craft cocktails on the menu, along with music and good vibes at Yugeen.
Sharigato – COMING SOON!

One sushi spot opening this fall that should definitely be added to your list is Sharigato. The new sushi spot will be serving made to order hand rolls, prepared with premium seafood and wrapped in warm rice and roasted nori. Served one at a time, the hand rolls are available in courses of three, four, five, six or to order a la carte. It will truly be a sushi experience unlike anything else in Charlotte!
SAVU
445 W Trade St

SAVU is new to Uptown and providing diners with great sushi in a nighttime experience. The space is two levels of entertainment, and boasts a menu filled with nigiri, prime sushi rolls, noodles, land and sea entrees, craft cocktails and more. We’re definitely eyeing SAVU as a fun place for a girls night out, or to celebrate a special occasion.

Recently opened in Myer’s Park, Sora is serving up French Asian cuisine including sushi. The menu is a seasonal tasting menu, meaning it evolves continuously to stay up to date with fresh ingredients. Sushi lovers should look out for the periodic omakase dinners at the restaurant!
Soul Gastrolounge

After a too-long hiatus, fan favorite restaurant Soul Gastrolounge is back open for business. The menu boasts a variety of small plates and sushi. The sushi menu includes a selection of sashimi and nigiri, as well as featured rolls and plates such as tuna tataki and sushi rice bowls.

Ru San’s has been serving Charlotte sushi for over twenty years! If you’re looking for an all-you-can-eat sushi spot, check out SushiHana in either South End or the recently opened Ballantyne location. But beware, you will get charged extra if you order something and don’t finish it! And if all-you-can-eat isn’t your thing, you can order a la carte off the menu as well.

Konnichiwa

Konnichiwa is a charming sushi spot in Dilworth. Small plates such as tuna crispy rice, spicy sashimi salad and more make it easy to try multiple items on the menu to start, then you can select your favorites among the sushi rolls and vegetarian rolls on the menu. Plus, Konnichiwa also offers catering platters if you’re looking to feed sushi to a large group.
Yunta

Ever since Yunta opened its doors to Charlotte a couple of years ago, it has been tough to get a reservation — and that’s for a good reason. Yunta’s Peruvian-Japanese fusion menu brought something completely new to the city’s dining scene, and the food the restaurant serves is simply out of this world. Ceviche, panza (salmon) nigiri and beef nigiri are absolute must-orders during any Yunta visit.
Yama LoSo

Yama LoSo, which opened in February of 2024, has been a welcome addition to the LoSo neighborhood with its modern interior and delicious sushi rolls. The speciality and classic roll options are plentiful, but if you’re looking for something particularly indulgent we recommend the Morrison roll which is a tempura shrimp roll topped with seared filet mignon, spring onions and spicy aioli.
Sushi in SouthPark & Myer’s Park
Baku

At Baku, enjoy fresh sushi in an upscale, elegant environment. The menu includes a la carte sushi, maki rolls, sashimi and nigiri. If you’re looking for a taste of everything, try a dish such as the sushi and sashimi for two, which includes six pieces of nigiri, ten pieces of sashimi, kochujan akami maki and negi toro maki.
Mizu

Mizu is a SouthPark rooftop melding Asian flavors and Southern ingredients. The maki rolls are all delicious, but we particularly love the Dragon Roll with eel, tempura shrimp, avocado and sweet soy, as well as the Tuna Crunch Roll with spicy tuna, cucumber and crispy tempura.
The Cowfish

The Cowfish is a great option for dining out with a large group. The menu features a selection of both sushi and burgers, so there’s bound to be something for everyone. Order a classic roll such as a spicy tuna or yellowtail roll. Or, opt for the burg-ushi portion of the menu, a combination of meat and sushi or a bento box that gives you a taste of both.
Omakase by Prime Fish

Omakase by Prime Fish is an exclusive, six seat sushi bar featuring omakase menus along with sake and wine pairings. It’s definitely a splurge, but the high quality fish is worth it for any true sushi lover. The chef imports directly from Toyko and the menu changes periodically, so you know you’ll always be getting something great.
