Having a birthday or other milestone celebration during the shutdown and isolation of Coronavirus can be frustrating and hard to figure out how to celebrate, whether you are 5 or 50.

We’ve done some research and gotten creative with some ideas on how you can celebrate your child’s birthday, the birthday of an adult friend or loved one, or really any major celebration during this stay at home, shelter in place time.

AlphaLit Charlotte

Alpha-Lit Charlotte can literally brighten up your festivities. They are helping families with porch delivery and pick up of their 4 foot tall marquee numbers, perfect for birthdays and anniversaries. Charlotte Yard Cards

Charlotte Yard Cards is used to social distancing, they typically set up their celebration signs on the sly to add an element of surprise. Spell out almost any message and add in personalized touches with balloons, stars, favorite colors; they offer a ton of possibilities. Their goal with every sign is to make it unique to the person being celebrated and to bring joy to any occasion. Enchanted Moments

Enchanted Moments is used to surprising kids in person with their favorite princess characters. They have shifted gears quickly and are now offering virtual story time, crafts, and other activities hosted by their princesses. Live videos and story times are free to join. The Jolly Lollies

The Jolly Lollies are keeping the party going with virtual sing-a-longs

The Jolly Lollies have taken their show into cyberspace. Join Ms Holly or Ms Liz for a 30 minute virtual music experience with your birthday child and their guests via Zoom. Everyone will get to sing, dance, and get their wiggles out together and from the comfort of their own home. Once the date and time is decided you will receive a Zoom invitation with those specifications and everyone will log in together. Crowned Sparrow Craft Co.

Crowned Sparrow Craft Co. is just the thing to keep tween, teen and really girls of all ages connected with a zoom crafting party. With a little bit of notice, you can order the kits, have them shipped to the party guests homes and set the virtual party time to craft together. Confetti Castle

Confetti Castle and Wow Factor Cakes are bringing cake pops, cookie kits, cookie dough tubs or funfetti birthday cakes with balloon drops to your door. Delivery will now be an additional $10 for anywhere inside of the 485 loop and $20 outside of the 485 loop due to the restrictions of the Stay at Home Orders. Contactless pick ups are encouraged and you must order a food item from Wow Factor Cakes with a balloon drop activity bag to qualify for delivery. Sweet Spot Studio CLT

Sweet Spot Studio CLT is now offering virtual cupcake decorating birthday parties led by Chef Monet Bloodworth. Parties will be held on Zoom, with Chef Monet of Bake Mohr Sweets. giving live instruction. She will demonstrate how to make and color buttercream, how to make the decorations, and how to pipe the buttercream and assemble each cupcake. Participants will be able to ask questions and interact. The demonstration and activity will last 45 minutes to an hour, but the party is welcome to continue socializing on the software for up to 3 hours total. 

Each participant will receive 12 undecorated cupcakes, 3 piping bags filled with buttercream and reusable Ateco piping tips, and any fondant decorations or accents needed. A goodie bag with a cake pop, sprinkle blend, stickers, and pencil will be included as well. Current themes to choose from are unicorn, mermaid, minions, sports, and animals. Cupcake flavors are a choice between vanilla and chocolate, gluten free can be accomodated. Parents have the option to pick up the materials and deliver them to the participants, or individual delivery is available for an additional fee. SAS Cupcakes

SAS Cupcakes can make a TON of different cupcakes for any occasion. From mini cupcakes to themes to the Jumbo cupcake that feeds a family, they are making celebrating at home much sweeter. Standard size cupcakes can be order by calling as late as the morning of your party and they only need 2-days notice for the Jumbo Cupcake. They are 100% curbside pick up and offer delivery with: GrubHub, Postmates, UberEats. While not all of their collections are on the delivery sites… you can order a dozen standard cupcakes, call them at 704-295-1777 and ask to make your order with a theme.

Cupcrazed Cakery is still open providing take-out, curbside pickup and delivery. They are also available to take custom cake and cupcake orders. If you are ready for a little DIY fun at home they now have cookie and cupcake decorating kits for you to do at home. It’s a great activity for the kids or to do as a family.
