It’s never to early (or too late) to introduce symphonic or concert music into your life, and the Charlotte Concert Band is one of the easiest and most approachable ways to take your first steps into the the beauty of classic and classical performances. This April, the Charlotte Concert Band is bringing favorite movie and Broadway tunes to the stage at the Knight Theater, offering you and your family the perfect intro to concert hall music.

You’ll enjoy song favorites I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables … Oklahoma!  … The Lion King … the Symphonic Suite from Star Wars: The Force AwakensPirates of the Caribbean …  and highlights from the Harry Potter and Jurassic Park movies series plus the Best Broadway Marches and the Overture to Candide.

A CONCERT BAND, also called wind ensemble, symphonic band, wind symphony, wind orchestra, wind band, or symphonic winds, is a performing ensemble consisting of members of the woodwind, brass, and percussion families of instruments, along with the double bass or bass guitar.

The Charlotte Concert Band is a treasure in the city’s arts scene, a volunteer community band of professional and dedicated amateur musicians whose mission is to provide lifelong participation in music through performances of classic concert band repertoire. Musicians who have recently moved to Charlotte find it a warm & welcome place to join with members who have played together in the band for over 40 years. Students at Queens University of Charlotte participate in the CCB ~ music majors as well as talented non-majors join in each semester ~ and many Queens students in the CCB come from high schools with outstanding band programs. Truly ground-up musical appreciation, accessible to all Charlotteans with free and / or low cost ticket prices.
