Located on Camden Road in South End inside the Design Center of the Carolinas, FIRST WIND CYCLING AND FITNESS has all of the classes and services you need to stay fit and healthy and HAVE FUN. What sets First Wind apart from other indoor cycling and spin classes? They teach on RealRyder Indoor Cycles that allow you to tilt and lean with the bike giving the sensation of an outdoor bike ride. These bikes give you a full body workout and burn 20% more calories than you would on a traditional stationary indoor bike! Not only that, but this studio offers a variety of classes including their unique and popular combination classes where you’ll spend half of the class on a bike and half either doing barre or circuit training.
We love the story behind the name First Wind from founder and owner, Karen Hill, “All my life, I’ve had restrictions. I have always struggled with heart disease and other medical conditions. Growing up and into my adult years, I was not able to do much in the fitness world, but after hospital procedures and lots of trials with medication, I am. I’m not on my second wind, I’m on my first. My journey has just begun and I’m just starting to build, grow, and appreciate fitness being a part of my life. Everyone’s situation is different, but I like to think we can all find our First Wind in one way or another. My hope is to provide that opportunity here for everyone”.
First Wind welcomes people of all fitness levels to join in on the fitness and the fun. Class offerings include cycling, cycling combos that include barre and circuit training and a 30 minute strength circuit class.
