This Saturday, celebrate the 24th Annual Derby Days with the Young Affiliates of The Mint Museum. Enjoy an afternoon of entertainment that includes live music, lawn games, free beverages and food from top area restaurants, and a large-screen viewing of “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” live from Louisville, Kentucky. There will also be a silent auction and a 50/50 cash raffle where you pick which horse will make it to the Winner’s Circle.
This year’s Derby Days will spotlight a new signature Derby cocktail, The Mint’s Julep, featuring Maker’s Mark Bourbon Whiskey and Maker’s 46 Bourbon Whiskey, using the recipe of Heist Brewery’s award-winning mixologist, Stefan Huebner.
At a horse race, ladies are expected to wear sundresses and hats, and the event is going to feature a hat contest for the ladies ~ and our scoopcharlotte publisher will be one of the judges! The weather is supposed to be in the low 70s and sunny, perfect for an afternoon outside at the Mint Museum.
The YAMs will also sponsor a Dapper Dan contest for the best-dressed gentleman at Derby Days. This year’s race is sponsored by The Sporting Gent, a locally owned and operated gentleman’s clothier and outfitter displaying a selection of fine outdoor and casual brands.
