We put together this list of things to do for our sister site scoopCharlotte. I know all of you LKN Alums already know all of this info, however it is a great reference for family & friends in town visiting this summer, or anyone new to the area. Our list includes a little bit of everything, from shopping & dining, lake access to fun for the kiddos.

Eat:

Want to dine al fresco with a lake view? No problem! Our top stops with boat parking access & gorg views (and grub) are Port City Club, The Rusty Rudder, Eddie’s & North Harbor Club.

The Rudder, as we locals call it, love it for it’s laid back style and outdoor tiki bar & live music.

Port City Club is the place to be if you want to put your feet in the sand. They have an open air porch, a deck and this heavenly sand seating for your outdoor dining options.

For an incredible lake view and close proximity outdoor seating,  North Harbor Club is your pick. The food is slightly more upscale and downright delicious.

If the waterfront is not your objective, two of our “inland” fave’s are La Patisserie Restaurant & Bakery in Mooresville (great breakfast & lunch spot plus a bakery, coffee/tea & wine too) and Eez Fusion for sushi.

In addition, Davidson boasts 2 new great spots, Mestizo (Mexican) and Kindred, amongst the long-standing other great spots like Flatiron, The Soda Shop, Millstone & Toast.

If you are in Davidson on a Saturday morning, the Davidson Farmer’s Market is a must do. Locals from all over come bearing the best of locally grown fruits, veggies, flowers, meat, breads & much more.

One stop for the largest selection of stores is without a doubt Birkdale Village. It boasts shops, restaurants, a movie theater, fountain/splash pad for kids & much more. It’s the best version of a suburban shopping plaza around, IMO.

Some other favorite boutiques include Lavendar Boutique & Monkee’s of Lake Norman. Designers, dresses, shoes. The best of the best!

Kids & Family Fun:

Lake Norman is lucky to have our own Discovery Place Kids. Located in Huntersville (exit 23 off of I-77) it’s a wonderful place to let the kiddos learn, play & run that energy out!

Another great spot is LKN Mini Golf. With all the water around here plus putt putt, you will swear you’re on vacay.

Animal Lovers? You HAVE to take the kids to Zootastic. It’s a petting zoo on steroids. A great family day!

Langtree Live Outdoor Concerts – nighttime fun for the whole fam. Every Thursday night. Bonus: all the restaurants & shops of Langtree stay open late! Eat, drink, shop, music & bounce house for the kids all in one spot.

Parks & Lake Access:

Our top picks for public parks are Jetton Park in Cornelius and Hope Park in Mooresville. Jetton Park has walking trails, tennis courts, a playground, a beach area, and much more. Hope Park has a splash pad and huge playground.

If you are interested in renting a boat make sure and check out our post on Lake Norman Boat Rentals. Have your own? There are plenty of lake access spots to pick from just click here for a list.

Breweries & Wineries:

Ok let’s just go ahead and get down to business. A beautiful lake view and a glass of wine or a beer go hand in hand. We are lucky to have both right here in LKN!

Our local breweries include D9, Ass Clown, Bayne Brewing & Primal Brewery.

Our local winery is Lake Norman Winery. It’s good stuff!
