Imagine a place where you can work in solitude for a couple of hours, meet a friend for coffee or lunch, pop into pilates, and grab an easy dinner on the way out—dream day!
- Well, MC Williams is building it. Moxie, a membership-based workspace and community hub for women, will open early 2027 in Eastover.
What it is: Think of Moxie as a creative clubhouse, designed for women in all stages of life— professionals, entrepreneurs, those who keep our schools and homes running, post-career professionals aching for connection, MC tells me.

How it started: MC was headed for burnout after 6 years at NYT. After a few career and literal moves she landed in Charlotte.
- She craved a space for work, wellness and connection—without having to hop in and out of the car!
- “Quite simply, I wanted the demands of my day (outside of motherhood) to be satisfied in one place,” she says.
That part: “We don’t operate like men, and we shouldn’t have to,” MC says. “So much is asked of us. We need a beautiful and functional space that rises to our occasion.”
The space: Professional members will have access to bookable work spaces such as phone booths, a conference room and a small wellness studio with regular pilates and yoga offerings, as well as an infrared sauna.
- The cafe will serve breakfast and lunch, and there will be retail with homewares, provisions and grab-and go-meals available to all members.
Atmosphere: Moxie will make its members feel embraced, warm and challenged. You can come as you are.
- “I do not want any sense of pretense or jockeying,” MC says.
Timeline: Memberships (priced $150-$400 a month with tiered initiation fees) will open late summer or early fall, for a tentative open early 2027.
