Funds raised from the one-night, one-of-a-kind event will benefit pioneering initiatives at both Atrium Health Levine Children’s in Charlotte and MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, to support fertility preservation programs for children fighting rare cancers, giving young survivors the chance to build families of their own in the future, and helping ensure that surviving cancer doesn’t mean sacrificing the dream of parenthood.

About Fertility Preservation for Children with Cancer

The effort addresses a major gap in care, as fertility treatments are often not covered by insurance, and gives young cancer survivors the chance at parenthood, not just survival.

  • 48% increased risk of infertility for female childhood cancer survivors
  • 44% less likely for male survivors to have biological children
  • Insurance rarely covers fertility preservation
  • Provide For Females: Ovarian stimulation, Egg retrieval, cryopreservation, and storage
  • Provide For Males: Sperm retrieval, cryopreservation, and storage

About the Isabella Santos Foundation

The Isabella Santos Foundation (ISF) is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to funding groundbreaking research, clinical trials and survivorship programs that focus on underfunded and often overlooked cancers. ISF has raised over $18 million since 2007 to fight rare pediatric cancers, supporting over 5,000 rare cancer heroes across 24+ countries.

In just one year, ISF has invested $1.3 million in six breakthrough pediatric initiatives through the new TORCH platform (Transformational Outcomes for Rare Cancer Heroes), spanning clinical research, basic science, survivorship, and fertility support.
