Beck Aesthetic Surgery Announces Plans For New Surgical Center in South Charlotte
After just two years in the Charlotte market, Dr. Joel Beck of Beck Aesthetic Surgery hopes to break ground this month on a new space in South Charlotte that will increase his practice facilities by more than 500 percent. We wrote about Dr. Beck last winter, and his revolutionary regenerative medicine services to slow facial aging HERE. His current practice is in Matthews, and the new surgery center, expected to open first quarter 2023, will be an 11,000 square-foot new building on Golf Links Dr. near the Rea Farms development on Providence Road. This new office building will include an ambulatory surgery center with two operating rooms and two 23 hour/overnight observation rooms for post operative monitoring.
“Charlotte is a growing market for medical aesthetics and plastic surgery,” Beck says, who practiced for 18 years in California before moving to North Carolina to be closer to family. “People move to Charlotte from all over the country and the city is changing in so many ways, we’re ready to be part of that change.”
Dr. Beck plans to create an elegant, authentic and relaxing environment, which will also house the new office the practice’s Med Spa, which will feature consultation lounges, surgical follow up suites, dedicated aesthetic and laser rooms, and quiet space for patients to relax before and after treatments. There are also plans for a boutique-style retail area for curated aesthetic health and skin care products.
“We are grateful for the growing number of patients seeking a truly personalized coaching based approach to medical aesthetic care,” Beck says. “We are at the point now to meet our growing patients’ needs, we need more space and staff. It is the perfect opportunity to have a location that reflects our vision for aesthetic and regenerative medicine.”
Currently, Beck Aesthetic Surgery is providing full surgical and med spa services from inside a 1,900 square foot office space at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. Beck operates on site at the hospital down the hall and sees surgical patients in just two exam rooms and a minor procedure room that doubles as the Med Spa. “We make it work amazingly, but are ready to have the space our patients deserve,” he says.
The new facility will allow Beck to put regenerative medicine at the forefront, he says. With a larger staff and space, the regenerative services will expand and no longer be limited to surgery patients.
“Patients’ regenerative cells can be harvested and processed for several uses within our expanded operating and procedure rooms,” Beck says. “They can be incorporated during a surgical procedure like a face lift and injected and microneedled into the skin.”
Principal/architect on the project is Michael K. Satterfield, AIA; Brian Weltman is handling structural and interior design; Mark Newell MPV Properties is the developer; Don Beck of Interurban Properties is the Realtor and Carol Hiatt of Surgery Center Consulting Services is handling surgery center accreditation.
