Mad Dash in the Market at 7th Street Now Open

MAD DASH HAS A NEW LOCATION in The Market at 7th Street and is bringing their popular chicken sandwich & hand cut fries to the old Uptown Yolk spot. Find them in the space beside @genodspizza ~ current menu includes everything from sandwiches and tacos to bone-in wings and loaded fries. Tuesday–Wednesday 11am-7pm + Thursday–Saturday 11am-8pm.⁠

N.Y. Butcher Shoppe Lake Norman: Opening June 13

The latest opening for N.Y. Butcher Shoppe is coming soon to Lake Norman. Guests can choose their own cut of meat or fish from the counter to take home or enjoy cooked with sides. Find them soon in Cornelius at 20823 N Main St.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery: Opening June 15

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery will open its third North Carolina location in Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood at 4425 Sharon Road, Suite S170 on Wednesday, June 15. Offering brunch seven days a week, the menu features Snooze’s signature Pineapple Upside Down and Blueberry Danish Pancakes, imaginative Benedicts like the Habanero Pork Belly Benny, as well as sandwiches, omelets and breakfast tacos. Diners can customize their meals and taste their way through three pancake flavors with the Signature Pancake Flight, or sample two different Benedicts with the Benny Duo option. Various plant-based plates (including Bravocado Toast and tofu scramble) are available, as are plenty of gluten-free-friendly options.  

Burial Beer Co.: Opening soon

While the grand opening has been postponed due to construction issues, this popular Asheville-based brewery will soon make a name for itself in Charlotte when it opens at 1216 Thomas Avenue in Plaza Midwood. The taproom will allow guests to enjoy a huge selection of beer on tap, and there will also be a bottle shop called The House of Relics.

IndiGrille: Open now

Now open in Parktowne Village, IndiGrille offers fast casual Indian fare including classic dishes like chicken tikka masala, plus rice bowls, curry, kati rolls and more. Open Tuesday – Sunday 11:30 am – 9 pm.

Super Abari Game Bar: Open now

The popular game bar has re-opened after closing in 2020 with more space, 60 arcade games, pinball and more. Find them at 1015 Seigle Avenue in the Belmont neighborhood.

Bar à Vins: Open now

Now open in the heart of NoDa, Bar à Vins offers neighbors a knowledgable, fun and approachable wine selection with a bar and retail. They’re open Tuesday – Friday from 4 -10 pm, and open at 12 on weekends. Find them at 3206 North Davidson Street.

Summit Coffee Plaza Midwood: Open now

The popular coffee brand’s newest location is now open in Plaza Midwood, serving up specialty coffee, beer and wine. Find them at 2501 The Plaza.

Arbol Eatery: Open now

Uptown, you’ll find healthy options at the new Arbol Eatery inside the Carillon Tower. Expect breakfast options, paninis, açai bowls, smoothies and more. Open weekdays from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.

Vicious Biscuit: Open now

Vicious Biscuit is now open in The Arboretum in South Charlotte. The family-born business offers scratch-made biscuits ,biscuit sandwiches, breakfast plates and more. Find them at 8200 Providence Road Suite 100.

Tour les Jours: Open now

Open now at Piedmont Town Center in SouthPark, this popular French-Asian bakery boasts pastries, baked goods, breads and gourmet cakes and desserts.

The People’s Market: Opening soon

After closing in Dilworth, The People’s Market will reopen in Elizabeth, offering its tried and true classics like the breakfast chicken biscuit, pizza and coffee, alongside new pastry, lunch and dinner offerings. Find them in the coming weeks at 1609 Elizabeth Ave.

Salted Melon Market: Opening soon

From the team at Reid’s Fine Foods comes The Salted Melon Market, a health-conscious all-day spot that’ll also boast a bakery, espresso bar and local broth bar.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe opens 1,100th Location 

Now open in Charlotte’s Riverbend Villiage, Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened its 1,100th location. The cafe is locally owned and operated by Stacey and Maurice Pugh.

NoDa Company Canteen finds permanent spot at Camp North End

NoDa Company Store’s pop-up outpost at Camp North End is getting a permanent home at the Boileryard at Camp North End. You’ll find beer, wine, sangria, snacks and more.

Summit Seltzer Expanding this Summer

Seltzer lovers, get excited. Summit Seltzer is expanding to Fourth Ward in Uptown this summer. The second location will be inside Queen City Grounds coffee shop, where guests can enjoy spiked and non-alcoholic seltzers, plus to-go beverages.

Closings: Sadly, we’ve seen a few Charlotte spots close their doors. BOCADO Bar + Diner in South End and Rocket Pizza in Wesley Heights both closed recently after less than a year in business. Central Coffee Co. in South End and Local Dish in Fort Mill also closed in May.

Head to 5-5-5 night at Red Salt by David Burke 

Join Red Salt by David Burke on Tuesdays for 5 – 5 – 5 night at 555 S McDowell St. That means $5 burgers, $5 beer and $5 wine starting at 4 pm.

Poolside Ice Cream and Cookouts at The Ballantyne

This summer, guests can enjoy the Ballantyne’s outdoor pool refresh and cool off from the heat with an ice cream pushcart from Blue Bunny, plus a poolside cookout every Friday through September 2 complete with live steel drum music.

Celebrate Pride at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

Celebrate Pride Month for a good cause at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. For the month of June, all Snooze locations will feature Pride Pancakes – fluffy buttermilk pancakes filled with white chocolate chips and natural rainbow sprinkles, topped with sweet cream drizzle, whipped mascarpone, and even more rainbow sprinkles. All Pride Pancake sales will be donated to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.

Ville Reine, Roots Food Co‘s in-house bakery, launches this month

Ville Reine, meaning “The Queen City” in French, is Roots’ in-house bakery launching this month. Ville Reine was started by Executive Pastry Chef Courtney Satterfield, whose collection incorporates in-season, fruits and vegetables in sweet and savory and many gluten free and vegan options.

Extended hours at The Market at 7th Street

Now there’s even more time to shop, dine and enjoy at Uptown’s Market at 7th Street. Select vendors are now open on Mondays, and the market is extending evening hours as well thanks to strong foot traffic numbers as more people return to Uptown.

‘Moonshiners’ winner will take the reins at Tattoo Liquor Lounge

Inside Sister, the European-inspired cafe at the corner of Plaza and Central, you’ll find Tattoo Liquor Lounge. Behind the bar you’ll now find Menu Killough Pratt, winner of “Moonshiners: Master Distillers” on the Discovery Channel. Grab a cocktail and relax at the cozy bar.

New Summer Cocktails at Matthews’ Stumptown Station

Stumptown Station in Matthews is now serving six new summer cocktails carefully designed by co-owner and master mixologist Brandon Mills and team. New highlights include the Summer Gimlet, a traditional gin favorite with lavender, and The Antica, a tequila take on a signature Old Fashioned.

Wentworth & Fenn closed for renovation

Wentworth & Fenn bakery is temporarily closed for renovations at Camp North End. However, the mobile outpost will be open outside of the bakery Friday – Sunday. The team expects the bakery to re-open at the end of the month.
