Prismatica Goes Up

5th Street at 299 North Tryon Street 

Prismatica is an installation comprised of 25 pivoting prisms more than two meters tall that transforms the street into a giant kaleidoscope that you can wander through.

The Biscuit Lounge Opens

Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11
The Biscuit Lounge will be at 4th and Tryon 

Hosted by #CharlotteIsCreative who will help attendees decide what SHOUT! programming to check out next. Sip on delicious craft beer from Divine Barrel Brewing while a line-up of local DJs spin tunes inside this cool LED constructed lounge along Tryon Street.

Preview of Hola Charlotte

Hola Charlotte is bringing their best Latino Street Dancing Mix featuring Samba from Brazil, Mexico folkloric dancers, Cumbia from Colombia, Salsa from Puerto Rico, Joropo from Venezuela, and Tango from Argentina. Performers will come out of The Biscuit Lounge (4th and Tryon) dancing and inviting attendees to join in the large street party. Follow the festivities up to the stages at Convergence Plaza (Trade and Tryon) for Salsa contests and more!

Friday, May 10

Entre Les Rangs opens Friday

First Ward Park at 301 East 7th Street for Friday & Saturday only, this installation features thousands of flexible stems that bend in the wind with white reflectors on top scattering light from projectors. These stylized stalks of wheat dance and shimmer to a musical score inviting passers-by to enjoy a stroll among them. 

Constellation Light Show

Friday from 8:00 til 8:45PM and Saturday at 9 pm at Convergence Plaza (Trade&Tryon) Enjoy a beautiful LED light show accompanied by music from Opera Carolina. Constellation is a star-shaped canopy of 5,400 LED modules. 26′ in diameter and hanging from a single point which will be displayed over the square at Trade & Tryon.

Blue Lapis Light Performance 15 Stories High

Friday and Saturday at 9:00PM  at Government Center at 600 East 4th Street 

For the first time ever, and for FREE, Charlotte will see dancers bravely and gracefully perform 15 stories high on the side of the Charlotte Government Center. In a 30 minute show created just for Charlotte SHOUT!, dancers will boldly fly across the face of this iconic building

Big Fat Indian Wedding

Saturday, May 11 1-4:00PM at Convergence Plaza (Trade & Tryon) The event will present a live Indian wedding ceremony on center stage, with Indian music and dance performances that also include a Bollywood dance workshop, Fashion shows, Henna tattoos and much more.
