What’s New
Bonterra introduces new Thursday Night Supper Club series, beginning Sept. 14

The inaugural supper club will be featuring Wines from Gramercy Cellars in Washington State with Food & Wine Magazine’s 2016 Sommelier of the Year, Jeff Kellogg and a four-course menu created by Chef Blake Hartwick. Highlights include Moroccan spiced rack of lamb, smoke duck breast and roasted scallops with zucchini pappardelle. $60 per person. Call 704.333.9463 to reserve your spot.
Happy hour? The SoCo Bar at the Westin prefers “Cocktail Hour”
Wind down the workday with Cocktail Hour at the SoCo Bar. On Thursdays, they serve up meat and cheese plate specials, a raw bar, $8 Belvedere and Hennessey cocktails along with wine and beer specials from 5-8 p.m.

In addition to their tempting offer of three traditional Italian courses for just $35, take note of Tavolo’s specials throughout the week:

Panther Fozzy Whittaker and teammates serve guests to benefit hurricane Harvey victims
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar | Wednesday, September 12 | 4-8:30 p.m.
Carolina Panthers running back Fozzy Whittaker, his wife Jasmine Mario Addison and teammates Christian McCaffrey, Russell Shepard, Jonathan Stewart and Darryl Williams team up with Cowfish to raise money to support those recovering from Hurricane Harvey in Whittaker’s hometown of Houston, Texas. The Cowfish team will put the special guests to work serving lucky diners from 4-8:30 p.m. The Cowfish will donate $3 for every entrée sold to his nonprofit Fozzy’s Future Heroes, and donations will go directly to helping Sarah’s House,Pearland Neighborhood Center and other Hurricane Harvey victims in the greater Houston Area.

Alto Piemonte Wine Dinner
Reid’s Fine Foods Southpark Mall | Thursday, September 14 | 6 p.m.
Henri Gabriel, owner of Advintage Wine Distributors, leads this exploration of Alto Piemonte, a region where the Nebbiolo grape made a welcome reappearance. Ormanni Wine Dinner
Corkbuzz Charlotte | Wednesday, September 13 | 6:30 p.m.
Hailing from the Tuscany region in Italy, and a winery dating back to the 13th century, Ormanni World Ambassador Giorgio Rocco will lead this four-course wine dinner. Menu highlights include grass fed flank steak, pork belly and a roasted cauliflower, lobster and plum Salad. $90 per person. Reserve your seat online.

Feel the pride of the Queen City after the Carolina Panthers’ first home game at Vivace’s inaugural Pig & Pilsner. Executive Chef Caputo will be serving a menu worthy of a post-game toast featuring pesto-rubbed slow smoked whole pig, housemade pickled vegetables, tomatoes salad, grilled corn and fig panzanella and polenta fries. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery joins in with $3 OMB Captain Jack Pilsner and gluten-free Glutenburg Pale Ale. $25 per person.
Panthers Tailgate
Westin Charlotte Courtyard | Sunday, September 17 | 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Get ready for the Panthers’ first home game of the season in the Westin Charlotte Courtyard. Feast on food truck fare from Bebo’s Mac Truck, The Dumpling Girls and Papa Robbs Paradise Ice, along with BBQ from the Westin. Wash it down with NoDa Brewing beer and Jim Beam specials, corn hole and a broadcast of the game.

Angeline’s rendering
Don’t mistake these for your typical hotel restaurant and bar. Angeline’s, an Italian-influenced modern American restaurant, and Merchant & Trade, a 19th floor rooftop bar and lounge, are two highly-anticipated additions to Charlotte’s culinary and nightlife scene. Led by Executive Chef Robert Hoffman, Angeline’s will feature a warm and vibrant setting, a bustling look at Third Street from the patio and an intimate dining room. While nineteen stories up, Merchant & Trade offers city views, handcrafted cocktails and music. Both ventures are anticipating an October opening.
