Ask the doctor: ‘Blephs’ are trending. Do I need to get my eyelids done?

by Brianna Crane | May 19, 2026

Eyelid lifts aren’t just for seniors anymore. Young people are asking their docs for ‘Blephs’ to treat hooded eyes etc.

If you’ve thought about eyelid surgery, for either aesthetic or functional reasons,  oculoplastic surgeons at CEENTA can help. Here’s what their experts say:

What conditions affect the eye area?

There are conditions that create visual or aesthetic issues for the surrounding areas. These conditions include:

  • Ptosis: an insufficient opening, drooping, of the eyelids.
  • Dermatochalasis: excessive skin on the upper or lower eyelids.
  • Steatoblepharon: bulging of fat into the upper or lower eyelids.
  • Brow ptosis: Drooping or heaviness of the eyebrows.
  • Rhytids: wrinkling of the eyelid area skin.

What treatments can an oculoplastic surgeon provide?

Each CEENTA oculoplastic (or oculofacial) surgeon is a board-certified physician with fellowship training. They specialize in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the tissues around the eye.

  • They can help make your eyes appear wider, tight eyelids, remove fat, lift your brows and get rid of those crows feet.
  • Blepharoplasty, eyelid lifts, eyebrow lifts, tear duct surgery and even BOTOX can help.
  • Some procedures are even partially covered by insurance.

Am I a good candidate?

In general, ideal candidates for oculoplastic surgery are not on any blood thinners, do not smoke, and can find a two-to-six-week period in their schedule to heal from surgery.

CEENTA’s award-winning team of facial plastic surgeons can examine your eyelids and face to determine which treatment will bring out your best features. Schedule your consultation today so you can see and feel the difference.
