by Brianna Crane | March 5, 2026

Blumenthal Arts is bringing a number of Broadway shows to Charlotte this spring. So, save the date and grab your tickets for this curated selection of award-winning shows coming to Uptown.

March 10-15: SUFFS

Direct from Broadway, this is the first national tour of SUFFS, the acclaimed Tony Award®-winning musical about the storied women behind the suffragist movement. SUFFS tells their story: the remarkable friendships, the heartbreak, and how this movement brought them together—or, in some cases, tore them apart.

  • Fun fact: SUFFS was created by Shaina Taub, the first woman to ever independently win Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score in the same season.

March 31-April 5: Mamma Mia

Grab your dancing queens, Mamma Mia is stopping in Charlotte as part of its 25th Anniversary Tour. For the uninitiated, the story centers around a mother, daughter and three possible dads in Greece, all unfolding to the storytelling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs.

April 15-26: Stereophonic

This is your chance to see the most Tony Award-nominated play of all time, Stereophonic. The 2024 Tony Award-winner for Best Play zooms in on a music studio in 1976 and a band on the brink of blowing up, set to original music by Arcade Fire’s Will Butler.

May 1-3: Kinky Boots

Another classic, Kinky Boots follows two characters, Charlie Price, who’s trying to save his family’s dying shoe factory, and Lola, a fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos.

  • The show features a Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein.

Based on the best-selling novel and film I’ve seen no less than 50 times, The Notebook is an emotional love story for the ages. With music and lyrics by Ingrid Michelson, this show received three 2024 Tony Award nominations.
