Tickets for In Pour Taste, a wine tasting comedy show, are available now through Feb. 15 (hello, Valentine’s Day).
At In Pour Taste, you get to try five wines, starting with light bubbles, ending on a full-bodied red. All throughout the show, comedians Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh do a ton of playful crowdwork. A professional sommelier joins them on stage to walk you through the tasting, and teach you a few new vino vocab words (did you notice I said full-bodied earlier?).
A sense of humor is required; wine experience is not. I went to night one, and the crowd ranged from someone who actually prefers margaritas to a couple that buys $5,000 bottles (not exaggerating).
The show is the latest from Blumenthal Arts’ Blume Studios, which is dedicated to bringing fresh, immersive creative experiences to Charlotte, and making the city a globally relevant destination for the arts.
For instance, In Pour Taste debuted in Toronto and has had sell-out runs in New York, the UK, Australia and Las Vegas. The Magicians Table, another experience at Blume Studios, came straight to Charlotte for its North American debut. The show hails from London, and will be here through March 15.
