The Book of Mormon
August 12 – 17
The Tony Award–winning musical The Book of Mormon is coming to Ovens Auditorium for a limited time, bringing its sharp wit, unforgettable songs, and outrageous humor to Charlotte. Don’t miss the chance to see this critically acclaimed hit.

Windy Hill Orchard Opening Day
Thursday, August 14
Windy Hill Orchard kicks off its Fall 2025 season this week. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 10 AM–6 PM (Cider Bar open Friday 12–7 PM), Saturday from 10 AM–6 PM, and Sunday from 12–6 PM. Visit their website for the full seasonal schedule running through December.

5th Street Live
Thursday, August 14, 5 – 10p
This free after-work outdoor happy hour features live bands, energetic DJs, and plenty of food and drinks available for purchase. The series is 21+ and runs every Thursday evening from 5 PM to 10 PM, making it the perfect place to start the weekend early.

Family Meal: A Queer Community Dinner for Time Out Youth
Friday, August 15, 6 – 9p
This pay-what-you-can evening will be filled with queer joy, great food, and community care, centered around one shared love: dumplings. Four Charlotte chefs—Sam Diminich, Treasure Williams, Sam Enriquez, and James Booker—will each create their own take on a dumpling, with flavors as unique as they are delicious. The night will also feature the release of the Chosen Family beer, a Queer Vendor Market showcasing LGBTQ+ artists and makers, yard games, and a family-friendly, welcoming atmosphere. All proceeds benefit LGBTQ+ youth across the Carolinas through Time Out Youth Center.

Before enjoying the action packed day at Charlotte Pride Festival, head to Victoria’s Yard for a mimosa (or several) all while giving back and doing good for your community. Tickets are $25 = General Admission (3 Mimosa Tickets) or $50 = VIP Admission (Unlimited Mimosa Tickets).

Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade
August 16 – 17
Charlotte’s largest street festival and parade returns to Uptown Charlotte on August 16th. Check out the entertainment line up here to see what’s happening during Pride Week. This year’s fest includes a variety of national, regional, and local entertainers, musicians, bands, and hundreds of participating vendor booths, including art exhibits, local nonprofits, retailers, a food court, and more, along with Flourish: A Celebration of LGBTQ Arts & Culture in the Wells Fargo Atrium – Uptown.

Head to Pins Mechanical for a throwback 90’s party you won’t want to miss. Expect Jello shots, 90s hits all night long, after-dark 90s movies, glow sticks, slap bracelets, and all the nostalgic fun that’ll take you straight back to the best decade ever. Come dressed in your best 90s gear and get ready for an unforgettable night.

Chica’s Market
Satuday, August 16, 5 – 10p
45 women-owned businesses will participate in Charlotte’s first “Chicas Market” on Aug. 16. when Chicas market CLT brings food vendors, a bubble bar and games, a live DJ and more to Taoh Outdoor Gallery at 2200 N. Brevard St. from 5-10pm. All of the vendors are Hispanic or Latina-owned.

Chug’s Diner Takeover at Customshop
Sunday, August 17, 11a – 3p
Chug’s Diner is taking over Customshop for one day only. The menu will feature favorites like bao croquetas, Cuban-American sandwiches, queso frito, their signature cast iron pancake, and more. Cocktails will be crafted by Kyle, Customshop’s GM and the mind behind many of their signature drinks. No reservations are required; first come, first serve.

Hummingbird Festival, August 11 – 17, 2025
This week-long festival offers a series of events for learning, observing, and creating with everyone’s favorite tiny birds. The Hummingbird festival is mostly held at the Quest and Reedy Creek Nature Centers, but check out their event calendar now to enroll before these nature-inspired activities fill up.

End of Summer Party at Seoul Food – Mill District
Sunday, August 17, 11:30a – 11p
Celebrate the final days of summer with great food, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly fun at Seoul Food – Mill District. Enjoy the splash pad, Little Zoomer rides, Sunny Day Markets from 12–5 PM, and an outdoor skating rink by Screamin’ Wheels and Blades from 1–5 PM.
