While it can occasionally still be tricky to find quality Gluten-Free meals in Charlotte ~ or anywhere for that matter ~ things are definitely getting better. There are several spots dedicated to eating gluten-free, and many businesses better understand the importance of GF preparation. We reached out to two local foodies who specialize in eating Gluten-Free in Charlotte for their recommendations on restaurants to trust for delicious and gluten-free meals. While there are a few duplicate reco’s in their picks, we included their text for both, so you have ALL the pov’s.
Please give them a follow to stay up to date on their finds and please let us know if we missed your local fave.

Nat created her page to share trusted gluten-free finds and real-life moments, blending her passion for safe eats with a growing mission to build community and connection.
Soul Miner’s Garden – This CLT hot spot is changing the game on comfort food with fully vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free options — and it all starts with founder Sasha’s mission to make food fun and inclusive for everyone. After years of navigating her own dietary restrictions, Sasha turned her passion for plant-based food into a space where no one feels left out at the table. The best part? The award-winning loaded nachos are made in a dedicated gluten free fryer. If you haven’t been yet — this is your sign.

Sixty Vines – Take a trip around the world in just one dining experience at Sixty Vines. This is one of my absolute favorite Charlotte restaurants, and here’s why. Their staff isn’t just trained on allergies—they understand them, and it shows—dedicated fryers, cookware, and even a separate pizza oven for their nearly all gluten-free menu. I love their cava paired with their vineyard truffle fries. Add this to your GF bucket list and don’t forget to make a reservation.

The Accidental Baker – Founded by former tennis pro Matt Cabana, The Accidental Baker is redefining gluten-free in Charlotte. Inspired by his wife’s GF lifestyle, Matt’s creations like the focaccia and lemon crinkle cookies are a must. His business was born in 2024 built on passion for creating safe, delicious gluten free baked goods for his family and community. Walk in Saturdays 9–12 or order online—just don’t wait, they sell out fast!
Deets on the Saturday walk-in: “No pre-order, no $75 minimum, no super long pop-up line (hopefully). We’ll have a limited, rotating selection of gluten-free favorites available for individual purchase, first come, first served. Expect staples like sourdough, bagels, focaccia, and cornetti, plus impromptu treats and seasonal surprises that might not normally be on the online menu. Online ordering is still available, too! If you prefer to plan ahead or want a larger order, you can place an online order for Saturday pickup during the same time window.“
Seemingly Overzealous – Husband and wife duo, Garrett Tichy & Jess Berresse, turned a fever dream into reality in 2023 opening their first brick and mortar in Camp North End. After years of falling in love over a shared passion for ice cream, they’re on a mission to provide 100% gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free options for the CLT community. I absolutely love their ice cream sammies and the brown sugar cinnamon scoop. You can find them in Camp North End, Plaza Midwood and Dilworth. Don’t miss out on their new ice cream tacos!

Southern Olive – Fort Mill SC. Tucked inside Baxter Village, The Southern Olive is a 100% gluten-free gem serving up everything from cinnamon rolls to craft GF beers—plus olive oils, balsamic vinegars, wines, and more. Founded by Amber, driven by a love of family, cooking, teaching, and empowering a healthy lifestyle. Don’t leave without trying the lemon blueberry cheesecake… it’s to die for.
The Pickled Peach – Jen and Travis Jentz opened The Pickled Peach in Davidson in 2014, aiming to build a restaurant that invests in and connects with their community. The family designed the café-market as a gathering space with a mission to provide locally sourced and clean dishes for the allergen community. Almost their entire menu is gluten free and made in-house but my favorite is their ham, brie, pickled peach sandwich. Make your way to the lake for this gourmet favorite.
Amber | @glutenfree_clt_and_beyond | Celiac & Gluten-Free Recommendations

Amber has celiac disease and is very thorough in her restaurant and kitchen reviews. She covers the QC, and also shares knowledge and tips for her picks as she travels. And she travels a lot 🙂
They have AMAZING gluten free pizza. They use separate pans and separate utensils/cutters and will also change gloves if you let them know you have celiac. They also have vegan cheese for those that need to be dairy free. There are 2 locations in Charlotte and there is a 3rd to-go location coming soon to Southend.

Snooze is our go-to for breakfast/brunch. I’m not even a breakfast eater and I LOVE Snooze! The cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for, and the spud bowl with pulled pork and verde sauce is sooooo good. Just let them know you need gluten free. The majority of their dishes can be made GF on a separate surface. They also have options for vegetarian/vegans. They are so accommodating. There are 3 locations in the Charlotte area.

I highly recommend the forbidden rice bowl at Flower Child. There are so many gluten free items on the menu, including mac and cheese. If you let them know you have celiac they will take extra precautions to prevent cross contamination. Two locations in Charlotte, Southend and Ballantyne.

Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. Just talk to your server. They also have GF churros for dessert.

They have a variety of gluten free options that are extremely safe for those with celiac. A majority of their menu items are either already gluten free or can be made gluten free. The fryers are 100% GF as well as their spare pizza oven. Any of the pizzas can be made GF on cauliflower crust. In addition, all of the pastas can be made gluten free and are prepared in a separate boiler to prevent any cross-contamination.

Oku is a really great place to go for GF Asian or sushi dishes. They have a large gluten free menu and can use tamari sauce instead of soy sauce. They have quite a few locations including Charlotte, Charleston, Raleigh and Atlanta.
Gluten free options are noted on the menu, but they can also modify many of their other menu items. The pizzas can be made gluten free using either a rice or cauliflower crust, cooked on a separate pan with clean utensils. The Chicken Parmesan can be made with grilled chicken instead of fried. They can also substitute GF bread for items such as the burrata appetizer.

Everything here is gluten free or can be made GF. The only things that need substitutions are buns and flour tortillas. So literally you can eat anything here if you are gluten free. All batters and fryers are GF. Chicken bites and fried pickles. All GF. When you order on the QR code there is an option to note that you are GF or if you have celiac so that they can take extra precautions.

Burtons is the go-to restaurant for gluten free in the Charlotte. They are a chain restaurant located in several states, but we are fortunate enough to have 3 locations in the Charlotte area. With a HUGE gluten free menu, Burtons is known for their allergy friendliness. I have never had a bad experience here. From the Chicken Milanese pasta to the General Tso Cauliflower to the 7 layer chocolate cake, Burtons never disappoints.

They are a 100% gluten free bakery in Charlotte. From sourdough and focaccia bread to cakes, cookies and cinnamon rolls — he has it all. Matt even supplies GF breads/pastries for several restaurants in Charlotte. Orders can be placed online or there are walk-in hours on Saturdays from 9-12 or until sold out ~ Oakhurst, 4416 Monroe Rd. Seemingly Overzealous Ice Cream
EVERYTHING here is gluten free, dairy free and egg free; they even have cake cones, which are my absolute fave. They have 3 Charlotte locations.
A dedicated gluten free donut truck that travels around to different locations in the Charlotte area. Give them a follow to see where they are each week.

Raw Bites By Risa is a whole foods raw bakery specializing in bites, bars, ice cream sandwiches, cakes, and more. They offer vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and seed oil-free products made with wholesome, high-quality ingredients—never any artificial colors, sugars, flavors, or preservatives. You can order online for pickup or there are options for mail delivery.

Wild Flour Sweets in Rock Hill
They are a 100% GF bakery in Rock Hill which is so worth the drive. Everything I have had here has been AMAZING. From “Little Debbie” cakes to brownies to cupcakes to macarons, there are so many GF treats. They even do special orders and make the most beautiful gluten free cakes. Definitely a place to check out if you’re traveling down 77.

Eez Fusion and Sushi, Birkdale in Huntersville
A great place for GF Asian dishes and sushi. A lot of their dishes/sushi can be made gluten free using GF soy sauce. Let your server know of your gluten intolerance and your meal will be flagged and brought out separately. GF items are marked on the menu, but your server can inform you of other menu modifications. You can even create your own bowl with rice or rice noodles.
