New & Now Open

The Pub at Uptown, Uptown

The same dart boards, late-night eats, and wall-to-wall TVs found previously at the Pub at Gateway have started a new chapter at 500 W. Trade Street as the Pub at Uptown. The neighborhood bar is open daily from 11 am to 2 am, with a kitchen serving up bites until 1:30 am every night.

Leluia Hall, Dilworth

Located in historic Dilworth, Leluia Hall’s Steak & Surf-inspired menu is centered around prime cuts of steak, seafood, a full raw bar, and thoughtful desserts.

Sora, Myers Park 

Combining French and Asian concepts, Sora prides itself on serving the freshest ingredients alongside a seasonal tasting menu that is continuously evolving. $195 pp fixed menu.

Fontana di Vino, South Park

Fontana di Vino has joined the QC Italian restaurant scene, taking over the South Park space formerly held by The Fox & Falcon, and before that, the Dogwood. Known for its antipasto, prime steaks, and specialty pasta dishes, Fontana di Vino is planning to open a second located in Davidson in late 2025.

Haraz Coffee House, South End

Charlotte’s first Yemeni coffee shop, located in Plaza Midwood, has quietly expanded with its second location newly opened in Lower South End. LoSo’s location will offer the same traditional Yemeni (and delicious) coffee, teas, and pastries.

Charlotte Restaurants & Eateries Coming Soon

Canteen at Camp Party, Camp North End June 1 | 1 – 4 pm

Now under new ownership, Canteen is relaunching into the social space at Camp North End on June 1st, with new menu offerings that include 20% of all purchases. Some highlights to look out for: house-made sangria, craft beers, snacks like pimento cheese, charcuterie, and more.

Seemingly Overzealous, Dilworth – Early June

Seemingly Overzealous is bringing their delicious dairy and gluten-free ice cream to Dilworth this June, at 224 East Blvd, making this their 3rd location in the QC.

The Painted Rooster, Plaza Midwood – June

The rebrand we didn’t know we needed is arriving in Plaza Midwood this June… previously known as Zada Jane’s, the Painted Rooster is a full-service neighborhood restaurant with “damn good chicken and cold beer”. Menu highlights include wings served 3-different styles, fried pickles, and most importantly, buttermilk ranch rumored to be Charlotte’s best.

The Scoop N Scootery, Uptown – June

Ice cream delivery until 2 am? Sign us up… Starting in June, a Boston-based ice cream franchise, the Scoop N Scootery, will be bringing sundaes, fro-yo, floats, and more frozen treats to your doorstep (or you can find them at 2135 Thrift Road).

ESO Artisanal Pasta, Uptown – June

Joining the vendor list at Optimist Hall this summer, ESO plans to bring the authentic flavors of Italy to Charlotte with their artisanal pasta. You can expect to find all things Italian on the menu, like Cicchetti, Foccacia, Dolci, and Vino, along with reservation-only tasting menus.

Salted Melon Market, South Park – June

Coming soon to Phillips Place, the Salted Melon Market is expanding to South Park this June. Brought to the QC by owners of Reid’s Fine Foods, Salted Melon offers everyday gourmet food, a coffee bar, and specialty groceries.

McHale’s Pub, NoDa – June

Coined “The Pub NoDa’s Been Waiting For” McHale’s Pub is set to open in June with final renovations being documented on their Instagram.

Surefire Market, Camp North End – June

After a fire forced the Rock Hill neighborhood market to close, Surefire Market is reopening its doors in Camp North End as a modern bodega. In the meantime, you can find the Surefire food truck located outside Hop Fly Brewing Company. Classic menu favorites like smash burgers and fried chicken sandwiches will be returning, alongside new additions like hand-spun milkshakes and curated retail goods.

Mama’s Comfort Food & CocktailsPark Rd – June

Mama’s Comfort Food & Cocktails is expanding its California roots to the QC this summer and we could not be more excited. Rebranding as “Mother’s Comfort Food & Cocktails”, you will find this eatery serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, (and obviously cocktails), coming to 4101 Park Road.

Sala, Myers Park June

Aptly named Sala (meaning “lounge” in Italian) this intimate, Euro-inspired, wine and cocktail bar will be the newest addition to the Moffett Restaurant Group, opening next door to sister concept, Stagioni. European wines, cocktails, and light bites will be the staples of the yet-to-open neighborhood lounge.

Nickyo’s Rodeo, South End – Early Summer

Once a staple in Charlotte’s social scene, Nickyo’s Rodeo is making a comeback almost 40 years later. Coming to South End, this honky tonk bar is the place to be for karaoke, live music, and good times. The only rule: Giddy up or get out.

Yugenn, South End – August 1

Yugenn’s sisterly sushi concept is arriving in South End late this summer, brought to us by the sisters behind the Sake Express brand. Sushi lovers can expect traditional rolls, contemporary Japanese dishes, and a full bar.

PopUp Bagels, Ballantyne – Late Summer

As we (im)patiently await PopUp Bagels’ QC location opening date, the “Not famous, but known” bagel & schmear joint is preparing to set up shop in the Bowl at Ballantyne located in between Honeysuckle Gelato and Harriet’s Hamburgers.

Tsaocaa, Plaza Midwood – Late Summer

Coming to Plaza Midwood this summer, Tsaocaa is known for its handcrafted teas made with natural ingredients, Korean fried chicken, egg waffles, and more. In the meantime, you can check out their new location in Huntersville, located at 9715 Sam Furr Rd D.

Napa Opens in Raleigh

In other Napa news, the Charlotte favorite is expanding its wine roots to Raleigh, officially opening in Glenwood Place. Napa’s newest location features curated wine lists, elevated cocktails, and the fresh flavors we all know and love. Last but not least, the chic atmosphere comes complete with a patio – we’re obsessed.

Cowfish, South Park Remodel

The burger-sushi restaurant loved by many Charlotteans has finished remodeling; showcasing new lighting, seating, and modern hues. Despite the new contemporary vibe, the classic menu favorites of Cowfish remain deliciously the same.

Jon G’s BBQ Pop-Up at Town Brewing Company June 4

Live music, barbecue, and limited-release lager can be found at Town Brewing Company on June 4th for a day of family-friendly fun. The taproom will open its doors at 2 pm for those who want to get in line early for Jon G’s BBQ goods.

National Rosé Day at DTR, Dilworth Saturday, June 14
