The Buttercup Has Opened in a New Location! Take Our Store Tour

Don’t let it be said that there’s nothing left of “old Charlotte” or that our town has left its history behind. The Buttercup has been Charlotte’s traditional gift and stationery shop since it opened in 1975, which is 46 years ago in case you don’t want to do the math 🙂

Current steward Kim Gordon is only the second generation owner, after purchasing The Buttercup from her mother-in-law, Stewart in 2017.  Kim has a modern approach to Southern tradition, and her focus is to curate a local resource for gift giving and entertaining, along with the custom invitations and stationery the store is known for.

The new shop is packed with seasonal gift and entertaining items right now, and they’re literally unpacking boxes while you walk through the new location in the Harris Teeter shopping center and the corner of Providence and Queens.

Here’s what we found last week!
