Where to See the July 4th Fireworks Around Here This Year

We missed getting together for firework shows last 4th of July, but this year the party is back on!

Even better news: July 4th lands on a Sunday this year, so expect the party to go through the weekend. Plan to attend your annual favorite, try something new or, for the hardcore fireworks fan, do your best to see them all.

4th of July Celebration at U.S. National Whitewater Center (July 3 & 4)

Where: U.S. National Whitewater Center

When: Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. both days.

Celebrate America Fireworks Show (July 3 & 4)

Where: Carowinds, 300 Carowinds Boulevard, Charlotte

When: 8:45 p.m. both nights.

The scoop: Close out a day of rides and thrills at Carowinds with a stunning fireworks show launched from the NC/SC border, complemented with an All-American soundtrack.

Optimist Hall Star Spangled Saturday

Where: 1115 N Brevard St, Charlotte

When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with fireworks beginning around 9:20 p.m.

The scoop: Head down to Optimist Hall for a variety of choices for dinner, along with live music from the HC Oakes Band and an impressive fireworks show.

Freedom House 4th of July Celebration

Where: 2638 State Road 2469, Charlotte

When: 5 p.m.

The scoop: Grill out and tailgate with food trucks, bounce houses, and a DJ at this family-friendly firework show.

Queen Charlotte Fair Laser Show (July 3 & 4)

Where: Route 29 Pavilion, 5650 Sandusky Blvd, Concord

When: July 3rd & 4th, when it gets dark.

The scoop: Switch things up and enjoy watching a laser show this weekend. For two nights only (July 3 & 4), Queen Charlotte Fair will be hosting a laser show once the sun goes down. The laser show is included in general fair admission, which is $12 for adults, $7 for kids age 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under.

Independence Day Weekend & Fireworks on Lake Norman

Where: Queen’s Landing – Mooresville, NC

When: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

The scoop: Head to Lake Norman to see Breaking Point Band live on the patio from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Afterwards, grab a spot on the lawn for fireworks starting around 9:30 p.m. This year, fireworks will be shot from land for the first time ever. Remember no pets or outside food or drink.

Harrisburg July 4th Celebration (July 3 & 4)

Where: Harrisburg Park, 191 Sims Parkway, Harrisburg

When: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with fireworks beginning around 9:30 p.m. both nights.

Red, White, & Belmont

Where: South Main Street, Belmont

When: 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

The scoop: Red, White, & Belmont is back this year with an evening packed with live music from DJ Eric Bowman, a concert by The Breakfast Club, and an unforgettable fireworks show. View the full schedule here.

Cramerton Independence Day Celebration

Where: Cramerton Centennial Center, 100 Center Street, Cramerton

When: 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. with fireworks starting at dark.

The scoop: Head to Cramerton for music by Carolina Soul Band, face painting by Hamm It Up, a beautiful Riverfront Downtown and awesome fireworks!

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers

Where: Atrium Health Ballpark, 1 Cannon Baller Way, Kannapolis

When: Game time is 6 p.m., with fireworks following

The scoop: Sunday night celebration at the Atrium Health Ballpark with a post-game fireworks show.

Red, White, and Boom! – Kings Mountain

Where: Celebrate from Patriots Park (220 South Railroad Avenue) or the Deal Park Walking Track (211 North Cleveland Avenue).

When: Laser light show begins at 9:30 p.m. with fireworks starting around 9:45 p.m.

The scoop: Expect food trucks, music, fireworks, and an all NEW patriotic laser show.  The show also syncs to music on radio 101.1 FM

Field of Flags and Lowe’s YMCA July 3rd Summer Celebration

Where: Lowe’s YMCA, Mooresville

When: 5 – 10 p.m., Field of Flags Ceremony begins around 6 p.m., fireworks start around 9 p.m.

The scoop: This year, the Lowe’s YMCA and the Exchange Club of Moorseville/ Lake Norman are partnering to host the annual Field of Flags and July 3rd Summer Celebration. Independence Day Celebration – Fort Mill

Where: Main Street, Fort Mill

When: 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. with fireworks starting at 9:15 p.m.

The scoop: Expect an Independence day celebration featuring live music, delicious food trucks, vendors, and activities for the kids. Finish the night by stopping with their Independence Day fireworks show at 9:15.

Red, White, and BOOM

Where: Old Town Rock Hill, SC

When: 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. with fireworks staring around 9:30 p.m.

The scoop: Expect a celebration featuring live music from Groove Machine and Kids in America, food trucks, beer and wine, and finish off with fireworks beginning around 9:30 p.m.

City of Statesville Fireworks Celebration

Where: Signal Hill Mountain Bike Trail area

When: Launch time is 9:30 p.m.

The scoop: Scope out the best places to view the City of Statesville fireworks.

Sunday, July 4th

WBT SkyShow

Where: Truist Field, 324 S Mint Street, Charlotte

When: Game starts at 6:05 p.m., with fireworks following.

The scoop: WBT SkyShow is back! Expect a firework show after the Knights game against Norfolk on Sunday, July 4th. Get your tickets here.

Lake Wylie Annual Fireworks Display

Where: Lake Wylie, by the Buster Boyd Bridge, SC

When: 9:30 p.m.

The scoop: Head to Lake Wylie to see their annual firework display. Best viewing locations include The Buster Boyd Bridge Boat Landing, Papa Doc’s outside deck, Rey Azteca deck at Lake Wylie Plaza, Lake Wylie Italian, and Pizza on the patio at Lake Wylie Plaza, Bagel Boat, and Long Cove Resort.

Tega Cay 4th of July

Where: Tega Cay Dr, Fort Mill, SC

When: 4:30 p.m. with a firework finale at 9:30 p.m.

The scoop: All-day festivities culminate in a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Additional activities include a fish fry, Nation’s 245th birthday party, and more.

City of Gastonia 4th of July Festival

Where: Rotary Centennial Pavilion, 111 N. South Street, Gastonia

When: 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Cloninger Park, Dallas

When: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
