The Eagle Food & Beer Hall – Open now in South End
In South End, you can now enjoy fried chicken made in custom-built fryers and served with house made hot honey at The Eagle Food & Beer Hall. Classic southern sides include mac and cheese, succotash and white cheddar grits while the “snacks” portion of the menu is equally as tempting, offering brown sugar bacon and the southern spread: house ham salad, pimento cheese, pickled green bean, blackberry jam and Ritz crackers.
Dilworth Tasting Room now open in SouthPark
A second location for this Dilworth hotspot is now open in SouthPark under restauranteur Jaffer Kovic. In addition to cozy yet refined decor, guests can expect a new pre fixe lunch menu and more dinner options from Chef Jonathan Shuler, a wine list with more than 400 options and a cocktail program by Bar Manager Chad Whittington featuring twists on classics.
Supperland – Opening soon
From the owners of NoDa favorites Crepe Cellar and Haberdish, among others, comes Supperland, which will focus on regional Southern cuisine served in a renovated historic church. The kitchen will be run by Executive Chef, Chris Rogienski, who is currently the Sous Chef at Haberdish. Find them soon at 1212 The Plaza. Until then, you can shop their custom designed plates featuring southern birds, foliage, and vegetation online.
5Church Re-opening Feb. 4
After 10 months of closure to do the pandemic, Uptown’s 5Church will reopen on Feb. 4 with a new executive chef, interior artwork and menu items. When diners return, they can expect a new menu from Sherief Shawky, the restaurant’s new Executive Chef, featuring a seafood tower including oysters, jumbo shrimp, lobster and Alaskan King Crab, as well as a new mural featuring adaptations of Aesop’s Fables
Stoke re-opens with limited hours
This Uptown destination reopened for dinner service on Jan. 14. Guests can enjoy favorites like the sticky pork shank, hot chicken sandwich and famous one-pound doughnut among others. Dinner service available Thursday-Saturday from 5-10 pm, and the bar will be open Thursday 4-9 pm and Friday-Saturday 3-9 pm.
Fran’s Filling Station temporarily closed for renovations
In a Facebook post, this long-time Dilworth favorite announced they will be closed for a few weeks for renovations. Upon reopening, diners can expect to still find some of their favorite Fran’s dishes along with some new classics and perhaps some sweet treats due to a clue in the post. We’ll keep you updated with reopening updates.
Big Ben British Pub & Restaurant moving, Bocado to take its place later this year
The South End staple that has a strong following among soccer and football fans is planning to move after the pub’s lease expires on March 1. Atlanta restaurant Bocado is reported to be taking its place with a grand opening this summer.

On Jan. 24, SouthPark destination Peppervine launched Sunday brunch, available each week from 10:30-2:30 pm. Menu highlights include ricotta doughnuts with lemon curd and blueberry jam, a short rib pastrami Benedict, shrimp and grits and lemon ricotta pancakes. Prefer to dine at home? The full menu is also available for curbside pickup.
RH Charlotte launches new wine menu
Guests looking for the ultimate meal out can now enjoy a brand new wine program at RH Charlotte. The program features more than 60 curated wines, 40 of which will be available by the glass, from vintners across the United States and Europe including Pierre Jouët, Antinori, Silver Oak, and Caymus-Suisun. They’ll also launch a selection of rare, limited-production wines by the bottle, which have not previously been available outside of Napa Valley.
