How to Have Thanksgiving in Charlotte If You Don’t Want to Cook

If there was ever a year to say “no thanks” to cooking Thanksgiving dinner, 2020 is it. Charlotte restaurants, bakeries and catering companies are showing out for this year’s Turkey Day. Browse through the options below to find your perfect holiday meal.

Dine-In or Takeout

Fine & Fettle

The Scoop: Canopy Charlotte’s restaurant is offering a multitude of options this Thanksgiving. If you prefer to dine in, a pre-fixe menu will be available from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. You may also pre-order a takeout/curbside pickup meal now through November 21.

What’s on the Menu? Dine-in pre-fixe includes turkey or porchetta plus sides and dessert for $35 a person. Takeout options include meals for groups of 4-12 people.

Harper’s

The Scoop: Get full off a good ole Southern Thanksgiving at Harper’s in Southpark or pre-order a pickup meal for the big day. Dine-in will be available 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and takeout orders can be picked up on Thanksgiving from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

What’s on the Menu? For $32.95 per person, dine-in guests can enjoy slow-roasted turkey breast, honey-baked ham or prime rib with homemade sides and desserts. Children 12 or younger are only $15. Takeout orders include either roasted or Cajun deep-fried turkey plus accompaniments. Chocolate pecan pie, anyone?

New South Kitchen & Bar

The Scoop: Enjoy a three-course meal at New South Kitchen this Thanksgiving from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. or order a to-go meal by November 20 (for turkey) or November 23 (for extra items). Takeout orders will include heating instructions.

What’s on the Menu? The dine-in in feast includes your choice of small plate, entrée, sides and dessert. We’ve got our eyes on deviled eggs, deep fried turkey, collards and pumpkin pie for a true Southern meal. The to-go meals include two options: deep fried turkey plus sides and dessert for 4-6 or 8-12 people.

Sophia’s Lounge

The Scoop: Join Sophia’s Lounge for Thanksgiving dinner (dine-in only.) Each adult runs $50 each, and children 12 and under are $20.

What’s on the Menu? Dig in to three courses of butternut squash bisque, salad, turkey (or vegetarian entree) and dessert.

Red Salt by David Burke

The Scoop: Join the Red Salt team in the dining room on Thanksgiving Day from 1-8 p.m. or pre-order a takeout meal. To-go orders must be placed by November 23 for pickup on November 24.

What’s on the Menu? The $65 per person pre-fixe menu includes three courses with dishes like squash soup, turkey breast, brioche stuffing and sticky toffee pudding. Takeout meals are $200 to feed four or $300 to feed six. See all the details on their website.

The Scoop: Feast your eyes upon all the options from Firebirds this Thanksgiving. Family meals serve 4-6 or 10-12 starting at $139.95. Orders can be picked up November 24-25 and included heating instructions.

What’s on the Menu? The turkey and prime rib feasts both include sides like spiced pecan green beans and cranberry sauce plus pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.

The Scoop: Chef Greg Collier has made celebrating the holiday super easy with the November Holiday Family Dinner for $65.

Mac’s Speed Shop

What’s on the Menu? Get fancy with a sous vide turkey dinner for 4-6 or 8-10 people. The dinners include four sides and one dessert like cheesy potatoes, roasted brussels and N.C. apple strudel. Add a charcuterie board for $65-120, too.

Piedmont’s Bounty

The Scoop: Wanna cook but don’t feel inspired? Chef Rob Clement will walk you through a full Thanksgiving meal via Zoom. His “Thanksgiving Made Easy” class will go live on Wednesday, November 25 at noon.

What’s on the Menu? For $50, you’ll get access to the class plus a shopping list and recipe book (no ingredients included.) For $250, the team will deliver all necessary ingredients right to your door in time for the class. The menu includes Evans Family Farm turkey and delicious sides like cast iron corn bread, shaved brussel sprout salad and cheesy potatoes gratin and easily feeds 4-6 people.
