Hello? Summer, is that you?

Possibly… LKN is slowly reopening, and all the things we love about the Lake are starting to roll-in. As always, please check directly before attempting to partake, and wear your stylish masks when gathering. We’ve gathered the scoop on what’s happening, what’s not, and even found a few new openings!

FARMER’S MARKETS

Huntersville’s Growers Market
Veteran’s Park, 8:00 a.m. – noon, Saturdays
Open and also taking pre-orders for quick pick-up. Vendor info here.

Davidson Farmer’s Market
Mains St, Davidson
The market is still closed. Join the newsletter or sign-up on social for updates on vendors – many of which have a daily off-site pick-up schedule posted.

Your Mom’s Donuts
Pickup days are Wednesday and Saturday, behind Summit Coffee/ Pickled Peach parking lot, Davidson
Order online from local vendors including everything from donuts and dairy, to bread and body products.

Josh’s Farmer’s Market
William’s Road, Mooresville
Pre-order drive through is available and dreamy – shop from the produce list prior to arrival. Store is open but best to check Facebook for hours and recently picked produce updates before visiting.

MORE FOOD NEWS

Many LKN staples have reopened including Kindred, Eez and 131 Main at limited capacity and reservations only.

Most are still offering their curbside pick-up and delivery menus including Alton’s Kitchen, and to the great relief of many Kung Fu is back in business.

Osito’s Tacos & Tortas
Main St, Cornelius
Scheduled to open early June, Osito’s is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Inspired by family, Southern roots, and culinary experiences – the food comes from the heart and is served with love.

Saladworks
Rosedale Shopping Center, Huntersville
Just opened, the national chain allows you to choose from 60+ ingredients and endless combinations to create an original salad (soups + more.)

Foodtrucks are putting in a lot of miles around LKN – check out relative new comer, Palm Berries focusing on the Denver/ Lincolnton area, and Cousin’s Main Lobster – with their order ahead app and a lot of LKN dates coming up, and Crafty Burgr – bringing some of the Lake’s fave burgers to your neighborhood.

BREWERIES

Many BREWERIES have opened with limited capacity and outdoor seating.

Eleven Lakes – don’t miss their many drink specials in June.

Primal Brewery is working on a strong foodtruck line-up and you can still order beer to go/ pick-up.

D9 has plenty of shade, and contactless ordering set-up.

New to the fold, Lost World offers much needed adventure in a post-quarantine era.

 King Canary is holding strong with multiple levels and decks to space out.

OUTDOOR FUN, PARKS + REC etc

Per the Governor’s orders driving range, golf courses, parks, nature preserves, and greenways are open.

Just remember mass gatherings for outdoor activities allows for no more than 25 people to gather and still adhere to social distancing. Check here for updates.

Most boat ramps are open, info here.

And, if you don’t own your own boat, many rental places are in full swing with sanitized-soaked options including Cornelius Pontoon Rentals, Lake Norman Community Sail, and Charlotte Cycleboats.

Lake Norman YMCA is scheduled to open July 1. HFFA begins limited operating capacity in June including their indoor and outdoor pools, and select outdoors workouts and summer camps.

Need More Water Fun?

Aloha Paddle Sports – try out, or get back into, stand-up paddle boarding. Reservations required.

What’s Up Watersports is open – limit is 10 people per pontoon boat and six per ski boat. Kayaking and paddleboarding rentals also available.

Birkdale Village – Many shops are partially opening in June but also continue to offer curbside pick-up and delivery including Fab’rik.

Langtree Lake Norman – many businesses have reopened including Hampton’s Men Clothing – Scoop PSA now’s the time to shop for Dad’s Day!
