We at scoop are Team Stay Safe at Home, so we highly recommend you are overly-cautious about heading out, for your own health, and that of your family, and the community as a whole. However, we know, some of you may need to buy something at a local store. And we are, literally, in the business of supporting local business, so we’re here to help you know What’s Opening This Week. Each week, for as long as this lasts.
For policy confirmation, we reached out to local digi-news expert Tony Mecia at The Charlotte Legder, our go to for local news. The Ledger shared this re-opening plan recap:
When Gov. Roy Cooper announced his three-phase plan to reopen the state, many businesses started mentally calculating when they could start trying to return to normal.
Phase 1 MAY 9: Retailers and some service-providers could reopen, if they can follow “social distancing, cleaning and other protocols.” That could happen as soon as May 9.
Phase 2: Restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and other businesses could reopen with reduced capacity, and recommendations to work from home could be lifted. This could start as soon as two or three weeks after Phase 1, or May 23-30.
Phase 3: The state could start to lessen capacity restrictions. This could start by the end of June.
