Help Mac’s Speed Shop celebrate their 14th anniversary with live music throughout the weekend from Abe Reid & The Spikedrivers, Pluto for Planet and Pursey Kerns. There will also be raffles and giveaways.

THURSDAY

Symphony 101: Ravel Unraveled
423 N Main St, Davidson | 6 p.m.

In the next Symphony 101 discussion, Davidson College Symphony Orchestra Music Director Tara Keith will guide attendees through an exploration of work by French composer Maurice Ravel. Free to attend.

Beach Bash 2019
Peninsula Yacht Club, Cornelius | 6 – 10 p.m.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas invite attendees to enjoy an evening of music, fundraising, food, raffle giveaways, a live auction and more, all in support of the organization’s mission. re-sale tickets are $30. Admission is $35 at the door.

FRIDAY

Beaver Dam Food Truck Jam
Beaver Dam Plantation House, Davidson | 5 – 10 p.m.

The first Beaver Dam Food Truck Jam of the season will feature an open mic night, beverages from Eleven Lakes Brewery and food offerings from The Baltimore Crab Cake Company, Smoke And Go BBQ and more.


Historic Mooresville Food Tour
Downtown Mooresville | 5 – 7:30 p.m.

Get a taste for the town during this walking food tour of Downtown Mooresville. You’ll stop by at least five local stops, hearing stories about the town’s history and architecture while tasting homegrown bites. $50 per person.

SATURDAY

Kentucky Derby Party
Bin 110, Cornelius | 4 p.m.

Cheer on your favorite horses in your finest hats and seersucker at Bin 110. They’ll show the race and then invite Thirsty Horses Band to play from 8:45 – 11:45 p.m.

Free Class: All about Hydrangeas

KY Derby Party for a Cause

Dress to impress at The Kilted Buffalo’s annual derby party. They’ll be giving out prizes for best dressed and auctioning horses for charity.

Town Day
Davidson Town Green | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Head to the Town Green for a day of outdoor fun and community spirit. Expect tons of family-friendly activities including a cake walk and yard games, plus live music, food vendors and booths showcasing Davidson’s community organizations.

Festival of Food Trucks
Downtown Mooresville | 5 – 8:30 p.m.

Mooresville’s Festival of Food Trucks returns with plenty of options to tempt your palate, with vendors including Carolina Smash Truck, Clean Juice, Maki Taco and more.

Yoga By The Lake
LangTree Lake Norman, Mooresville | 5 – 8 p.m.

Practice for a cause as Yoga on the Lake returns with an hour of instruction by Andy and Tamara of Vinyasa Arts and a post-class beer from D9 Brewing. Proceeds benefit the Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreats Center. $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

18th Annual An Evening For Dove House
Charles Mack Citizen Center, Mooresville | 5 – 10 p.m.

The 18th annual Evening for Dove House includes tastes from local restaurants, live entertainment, a keynote program presented by Dove House, silent auction and live auction emceed by Larry Sprinkle of WCNC TV. They’ll also have the Kentucky Derby on so you won’t miss any of the action.

3rd Annual Kentucky Derby Party
Miciah’s Happenings | Starts at 1:30 p.m.

Spartan Half Marathon, 10K & 5K
The Village Green, Davidson | 7:30 a.m.

The 12th annual Spartan Half Marathon, 10K & 5K is a road race to benefit the school’s Athletic Boosters Club. All proceeds benefit the student athletes at the Community School of Davidson.

Hello Huntersville

Huntersville’s annual music and arts festival will feature cultural performances on the stage at Veterans Park amphitheater, roaming entertainment throughout downtown and the chance to try your hand at crafting your own masterpiece through weaving, mosaic art, painting murals or ceramic art. Admission, parking and activities are all free.

Concert on the Green
Davidson Town Green | 6 p.m.

Davidson’s Concerts on the Green series continues with 80s variety music from the band Kids In America.

BASH Color Dash 5K 2019
Ghostface Brewing, Mooresville | 4 – 6 p.m.

At the 8th annual Bash Color Dash, you won’t only get a prize for fastest time, you also could be the recipient of the “most covered in color” award. Along the route, you’ll be sprayed with non-toxic washable paint. Stick around for a post-run block party at Ghostface Brewing with music, food and drinks. All proceeds support the Back 2 School Bash 2019, a community-wide event providing free shoes, backpacks and school supplies for area students.
