What to Do This Weekend Thru NYE
Hands-on Mixology Class – Cocktails for a Great NYE Party

There’s still time to perfect your NYE specialty cocktail. Start with this hands-on class where you’ll craft three full-size cocktails (one will be champagne-based) and enjoy complimentary cheese and charcuterie upon arrival.

Ahead of the Belk Bowl, UVA professor Kathryn (Kay) Neeley will lead a wine tasting and lecture at the Mint Museum Uptown’s location. Free with registration.
E.T.: Movie In Concert – The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra
Ovens Auditorium | 7:30 p.m.
The whole family will love following along with the imaginative adventures of E.T. the extra-terrestrial and his new friend 10-year-old Elliott. The academy award-winning score will be performed by the Charlotte Symphony in sync with the full feature-length film.

NEW YEAR’S EVE
Ring in 2019 at the Queen City’s official New Year’s Eve celebration, CLT New Year’s Eve, Presented by Ally! This annual free Charlotte tradition will include a DJ, live music, the lighting of the Queen City crown, and a huge CLT NYE fireworks display starting at midnight. This year, the fun takes place at the Levine Avenue of the Arts.
5 Church is your single destination for dining and toasting. Start off with a four-course menu and champagne, then stay for the New year’s Eve party featuring an open bar and buffet, live DJ and dance floor, champagne toast and party favors. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Levine’s Children’s Hospital.
Travel back in time to the days of flapping ladies and tricked-out daddies to welcome in the New Year. Merchant and Trade’s celebration includes appetizers to kick off the fun, a dinner buffet, two drink tickets and a midnight champagne toast. 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. Purchase your tickets here, and don’t forget your Gatsby attire!
Your New Year’s Eve at Sophia’s Lounge starts with a five-course tasting menu crafted by Chef Jaime Lynch, plus champagne. Reserve your table here. Ring in the New Year at The Imperial with live jazz in the lounge and the latest hits by DJ Zio on the tented and heated Rooftop Winter Lodge. $25 cover includes admission and a midnight champagne toast. Ring in the New Year with the sounds of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Maestro Warren-Green leads this special program featuring Strauss waltzes and Gershwin’s classic tunes, followed by a post-concert party with desserts, champagne and dancing.

Nuvolé Rooftop TwentyTwo is serving up an indulgent dessert spread featuring a flambé’ station with crepe suzette, cherries jubilee, profiteroles au chocolate, assorted gateaux, cheesecakes, merengues and tortes, complete with an open bar and live entertainment.
