We love a great fixer upper ~ you can move into the neighborhood you want to live in, even if you can’t afford the best brand new home on the block. You can live in your house for a bit while you draw up plans to make it your version of perfect, or at least the perfect-est you can afford. You can improve your home in stages, based on your evolving family and lifestyle. You’re investing in the land and not the builder’s bells & whistles, which you can feel pretty good about in a rapidly growing city like CLT.

It says something about our housing market (or maybe our taste) that our favorite fixer uppers in South Charlotte right now are priced between $575,000 and $1,165,000. The good news is that it’s unlikely these property values are going to decline over the next 10 years. The thing about a good Charlotte fixer upper though, you gotta beat the builders to the buy, cause they’re snapping up properties to tear down almost as fast as they list.
