The maximalism approach to fashion that took a front row seat at the fall runway shows will continue to reign straight through  the winter months.  We are talking head turning pieces that demand unabashed audacity. Sequins here, embroidery there, a splash of glitter on top and more.  More ruffles, more frills, more fur, feathers and fun.  For today’s fashion report we focus on the latter two; feathers and fur. Whether you choose luxury items or those at a more moderate price point, with an outfit trimmed in feathers or topped off in fur, you’ve achieved a totally attainable high fashion look. Brace yourself; this season’s fur trends are not faint at heart.

Luxe:

From toboggans with pom pom toppers to fur lining the insides of shoes or feathers coming out the tops of them, to sleeves on bomber jackets, skirts, purses and earrings, luxury designers and retailers put a furry something on just about everything.  Expect bold colors and big proportions.  More is more is more!

Low:

Real fur doesn’t jive with you or your budget?  Not a problem.  Moderate designers and discount retailers hopped on the feathers and fur trend all the same.  If you’re mad for all the fab details like me but shopping on a budget, you can expect to score an equally fantastic plethora of statement making pieces for your wardrobe, but at a price point that’s totally accessible!  I find myself double checking the prices on the below items, especially that amazingly rich looking forest green vest!
