Tomorrow a new spot in Davidson called Kindred will open its doors for the first time. The restaurant is owned & operated by husband and wife duo Joe & Katy Kindred. Joe is the former executive chef of Rooster’s, located in uptown Charlotte. He was named the 2013 Chef of the Year winner by The Charlotte Magazine. The restaurant is planning to be open Thursday – Sunday at 5pm for dinner. Reservations are recommended.
The Kindred’s chose a 1914 building that once was the home to the Davidson College’s book store, the Tom Clark Museum, and a town pharmacy as the place for their first restaurant. They’ve spent the last few months renovating the three-story Main Street brick building, putting the kitchen on the basement level, a bar and table seating for 20 on the ground floor, and a dining room on the upper level that seats 60. A patio will hold another 65 guests once the weather gets warmer.
