Here’s how to create a blooming centerpiece to chase the post-holiday blues away.

In early January I like to have pre-cooled mini daffodil bulbs blooming in a window box container as my centerpiece.  [oh wait, hello Martha, nice of you to join us].

Seriously, not hard to pull together at all, and it has the rustic, organic, non-sparkly touch that I’m craving after all the holiday bubbly and cheer.  Plus, I love daffodils at any time of the year, but particularly as I’m waiting for the garden variety to pop.

My source for all bulbs is BRENT & BECKY’S BULBS, and they do have a selection still available of pre-co0led bulbs you can plant indoors, sit in the sun and have in bloom in less than 30 days.  These are shipped in Mid January.  My picks from their available pre-cooled bulbs to use in a living centerpiece – or anywhere for that matter – right now are:

Pippit Mini Daffodils

Topolino mini daffodils

Blue Magic Muscari : Grape Hyacinth

Lilac Wonder tulips

If you don’t see anything left in the pre-cooled or “indoor” bulbs, unfortunately you’ve missed the ordering/shipping for the rest of Brent & Becky’s gorgeous and huge assortment of spring blooming bulbs.  Get yourself over to your nearest nursery and pick out some indoor blooming plants from their greenhouse selection and create your own blooming centerpiece.  If you treat them well, you may even be able to plant your picks in the early spring ground.  Here are some pinspirations, below.
