An exciting new family friendly venue is opening February 20th. Sea Life Charlotte-Concord Aquarium features more than 20 spectacular and diverse displays of marine life which includes an acrylic walk-through underwater tunnel and a touchpool. Visitors will travel from the fresh waters of the Catawba River in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the salt waters of the Atlantic Ocean and beyond in about an hour.

The Aquarium is specifically designed to educate and engage kids and the young at heart, the 36,000-sq-ft aquarium will bring visitors face-to-face with the underwater world.
We got a preview prior to the opening and I must say, my pictures don’t even do it justice. This is a ” see in person” kind of place.
Aquarium in the entrance features a coral reef theme
The under water tunnel is breath taking
The sharks in the under water tunnel are amazing–and fast–hence the blurry image
My favorite room features Barred Flagtail fish swimming with current in a circular motion around the room.
Neptune had to make an appearance
Lionfish, clownfish, every color fish.
The touchpool allows kids to gently handle sea life–if they are brave enough.

I could watch jelly fish floating all day
Interactive displays and educational touch screens are placed at each exhibit
Starting in May you can book a birthday party at the aquarium
A play place with tables and coloring books.
Visiting Sea Life Charlotte-Concord
Hours are daily 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday from noon to 7 pm. Sea Life Charlotte-Concord is located at 8111 Concord Mills Blvd., Concord, NC 28027 at Concord Mills.
Look for parking on the back side of the mall at Entrance 7.
