5 Detoxifying smoothies to try.

My favorite way to get my body rebalanced is to infuse it with lots of much needed vitamins by drinking smoothies. I’m not talking about the sugary ones that you can buy at the food court in the mall, of course.  I’m talking about healthy, pure, homemade smoothies.

When making smoothies , I really like to use ingredients like lemon, ginger, goji berries, beets, pineapple, avocados, cinnamon, apples, and parsley because they are naturally detoxifying,  and offer an added benefit to the nutrients found in popular ingredients like red & blueberries, banana, mango, nut butter and nut milks.

If you’re new to the wonderful world of smoothies and don’t really know where to begin, you might want to try my Detox Green Smoothie to help you get started.

 

Detox Green Smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup of baby spinach

1 cup of kale

1 Granny Smith apple, core removed

1 cup of orange juice

1/2 a medium-sized banana

1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

3-5 ice cubes

Directions: Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.  Drink cold.  Makes 1 serving.

 

The ingredients in this smoothie help the body to remove food additives and other toxins, boost metabolism, keep blood sugar stable, and flush out the kidneys.
