We got the Scoop on Ace & TJ’s New “Girl” Lindsay Before Her First Fashion Hosting Gig

lindsay

The minute I read in the Observer that Lindsay Gladden, also known as “the girl” from the Ace & TJ Morning radio show, would be hosting this Sunday’s  LIGHTS! CAMERA! FASHION! runway fashion show by Belk for the Junior League Charlotte I did a happy little jig. Lindsay joined the Ace & TJ Show (96.1) February 1 of this year. And since taking the microphone her first morning, spends her time representing all us gals with sass and class against a room full of men.

Yet, it wasn’t until I interviewed her that I realized the new golden girl of morning radio had no real plan to spend her crack o’ dawns chatting up the airwaves.  In fact, though hosting the Lights! Camera! Fashion! runway show will be her first official fashion hosting gig as a member of the Ace & TJ show, Lindsay finds slipping into the role will prove to be right up her alley.

Check out my Q&A with her. Then, go snag your tickets to LIGHTS! CAMERA! FASHION! this Sunday, October 13. I’ll be there for the 6:30 p.m. runway show and plotting ways to win the diamonds.

Arden: What’s a little background our Scoop Charlotte readers may not know about you?

Lindsay: I actually majored in fashion design at East Carolina. I did several internships in Charlotte, including Belk. It’s funny my first official fashion hosting gig with Ace & TJ is where I honed a lot of my fashion skills.

Right before I joined the Ace & TJ Show I was dancing for the Charlotte Bobcats dance team. I met Ace & TJ a few times through Ladycats appearances. When the “girl” position became open, the guys encouraged me to try out for it. And the rest, well, is history.

Arden: Ha! I love it! You’re doing a great job too. I love how you took control of some of those folks from the Misfits trip.

Lindsay: Girl, I have to stand up for myself and all the girls out there listening. We have so much fun on the show. I love the guys but I know we gals need our voice too!

Arden: Honey, I know it. We’re all excited to see you bring your voice and style to host the fashion show at Belk Sunday.  I’m guessing you get lots of invitations to host events. What made you say “yes” to Lights! Camera! Fashion!?

Lindsay: You know, I love the Junior League and how charitable it is with our community. I grew up in Concord. So, working with charitable organizations in this area means even more to me because it’s my home. And, I love the fashion world! It’s nice to be able to combine several activities into one great evening. I’m so excited!

Getting to chat with Lindsay got me even more excited about attending Belk’s Fashion Show to benefit the Junior League of Charlotte. Go get your tickets and meet me near the runway Sunday evening. It’s gonna be a blast!
