From this interactive tasting you will learn the importance of the Andes Mountains and its generous effect on the viticulture of the region, the very special soils created millions of years ago and the ability Alejandro Vigil as the Chief Winemaker to identify and select parcel by parcel, row by row, cluster by cluster of the best and create highly acclaimed, highly allocated wines recognized throughout the wine world as the very best.
El Enemigo Chardonnay, 98 Points
This is dense and flavorful with lots of sliced apple, almond and flower character. Hints of kiwi too. Full body, dry and exceptionally long finish. Oily but dry.
El Enemigo Cabernet Franc, 93 Points
Smoky, charred aromas sit atop meaty, savory berry scent. Oak flavors combined with saucy berry and plum notes end with dry tannins and snap.
El Enemigo Malbec, 93+ Points
Rich and concentrated, it offers aromas of black fruit, cherry and dark berry fruit on the nose followed in the palate by a full-bodied wine with flavors of spice, blackberry, black cherry, pepper and a slight floral character.
Gran Enemigo Agrelo, 96 Points
This just pops out of the glass with perfumed and dark fruits as well as stone and fresh herb. Salt, too. Full body layered and tight with a mineral and stone undertone. Flavorful finish. So enticing. Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
Gran Enemigo Gualtallary, 98 Points
A full, lusty blend of dark berry aromas mixed with tomatoey notes and herbs leads to a strong-boned palate with snappy acidity, freshness and depth. Heavy oak has mostly been absorbed, allowing for plum, raspberry, tomato and herbal flavors to express themselves.
Tickets are $35 for a flight of five wines and can be reserved by calling the Wine Department at 704-377-1312.
