Thursday, August 4 – Sunday, August 7 is Friends & Family Sale at the GAP stores. . Get 30% off your purchases, or 35% off when you use your GapCard!  You can shop early, Wednesday, in a “pre-sale” at Gap stores where you select your items and they’ll be ready for you to pick up when the sale begins on Thursday.

The perfect time of year to make a trip to the mountains for cool, crisp savings on the JCrew styles you love.   Saturday & Sunday, October 23 & 24 from 10a-4p, the JCrew distribution warehouse on One Clifford Way in Arden NC (just outside of Asheville) will be packed again with deeply discounted men’s, women’s, children’s and bridal clothing.

You need to make the drive at least one time to this once-a-month event if you love the Crew and you have anyone in your family who wears something close to their sample sizes.  While there are items for all in various sizes, there are tons, literally tons, of items in the “sample” sizes of kids 4-6, mens 32 pants and 40 reg jackets,  and women’s 6.

You can see from the photo, it a big warehouse filled with box after box of clothing.  Not ordered in ANY way by size, season, condition, price.  Just boxes to dig through relentlessly and endlessly.   (Except the formal gowns, which were hung on racks).

For an idea of the prices, last spring kids pieces ranged from $5 to $10 each.  Ladies and Men’s same prices – $10-$15 for pants, $5-10 shirts, $20 dresses ($30-$50 formal & wedding gowns), $10-$30 sweaters, $20-$30 blazers, $40-$50 winter coats.

Most items were in good condition although you MUST check for black indelibile marking as well as cut outs.

If you like to dig for your bargains, this is SUCH a fun trip.  However, you will definitely want a GPS and to call in advance for directions (828-687-6475).  It’s not easy to find.

The JCrew Clearance store is also at this location.  It is open all the time with primarily sale items from the current season. Great buys, not as deeply discounted but so much more pleasant to shop.   The pics below are of the Clearance store, NOT the warehouse sale.
