I don’t know if any of you tried to sign on or buy at the Outnet.com’s $1 sale last Friday.  I was up very early for a trip and saw the rantings and ravings of the British customers whose sale started, of course, hours before we woke up.  Their sale crashed the site.  Stateside, the Outnet had to shut the sale down soon after opening and there were tons of connection problems.   Did you try to buy?  In case you are one of us who just likes to read about this stuff, here’s a link to purseforum where folks post what they got.  Like an Oscar dress originally $5600 for $1.  Sick.

UPDATE:  Pre-Dawn Friday.  The Brits are having a bloody awful time getting into the sale online much less purchasing.  Clearly, this is gonna be a cluster.   But again, a Thurley dress for $1?  Thakoon for $1?  If you like the chase, start your engines.  Still no word on the start time.

If you made the sign up deadline of 4/11, you have registered and will get an email telling you the START time of the sale.  If you missed the sign up, well, maybe next time.  Remember, this sale has more rules than the Boy Scouts Handbook (you can read them here) and has generated a craaaaaaazy amount of energy in the ethersphere.  Be prepared scouts.

I have signed up for this, the online frenzy of the month.  Maybe even the season.  The Outnet,  the discount website of  high-end site net-a-porter is having a ONE DAY = $1 SALE = on Friday, April 16th. That will be very high-end designer wear - only a dollar.   HOWEVER. there are many restrictions, detailed here.  Like you can ONLY BUY ONE ITEM. FOR ONE DOLLAR. And even if you register, you won’t find out WHAT TIME the sale starts until you get an email right before.  Man.  Not for the impatient or easily frustrated. If you are game, register before April 11th.

Starting Friday, GILT GROUPE is having a Wedding Weekend with Martha Stewart Weddings.  This high-end sample sale site has daily deal from fashion/beauty/etc.,  always at least 50% off.  There are probably a dozen of these sites, (check out our weekly round-up here).  Gilt Groupe is the priciest with the highest quality merch, but the goods are at decent to deep discounts.  The catch - you have to sign up and be “invited.”  Before the sale.  It can take a day or so, you may want to sign up soon.  Click more to see the flyer with some of the brands, etc.

One unexpectedly cool thing about managing this site is that we get to see what people are reading about and & googling. Like, our readers ADORE pedicure stories.  Constantly looking for newer, cuter pedicure ideas.  Who knew.  Today we’ve had lots of hits on our article hypothesizing that www.chickdowntown.com was closing, posted in the end of January (you can see it here).  Lo & behold, we checked out the site, here, and they are “under new ownership” with only a splash page up.

Today at HAUTELOOK.COM, one of the many online sample sale websites we follow at scoopcharlotte, a sale on tres chic, tres cher Designer Diaper Bags by maternity guru Liz Lange.  These are normally priced between $400-$500 each (whaaaat??) but now, at 75% off, they are super stylin’ and would definitely pass muster after the diapers, bottles, sippies and cheerios have gone their merry way.  A few photo’s below.  The sale ends in a little less than two days (wed am).
