The LA based stylist team behind popular denim Current/Elliot is designing a capsule collection of handbags for Kate Spade stores, due in this August.  Six bags, with what we hope is a lovely marriage of Current/Elliot’s laid-back, comfortable vibe and Kate’s urban lady-like voice.  If this taupe ostrich/suede bag is any indication, these will be a hit, despite the price tages of $245-$1295.

Gwen Stephanie will be adapting her popular Harajuku Lovers line for Target this fall – clothes for kids babies will be inspired by Gwen’s fave Japanese anime looks and will sell for $3.99 to $29.99 at Target starting November 13

Neiman Marcus is the first of several high-end stores to introduce the new Fall 2011 collection by our most celebrated celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe – it’s available for pre-sale online today and will be in store in August.  Pics below or you can click here to go straight to the collection online .

NM online has what looks like 45-50 pieces of her apparel collection in an exclusive pre-sale event plus 6 bags and 14 shoes.  Prices range between $250 and $650.

TOMs shoes, the popular espadrilles company with a heart of gold (for every pair sold, a pair is donated to a child in need) announced Tuesday that their One for One concept of giving would become the company’s overarching mission, extending to an eventual line-up of products.  They have started with eyewear, so with every pair of sunglasses purchased, TOMs will help give sight to someone in need.  They’ve got three basic styles – a Wayfarer, an Aviator and a classic Round, priced between $135 and $145. Found in Charlotte and Revolution and Bevello.

Diane von Furstenberg is doing a capsule collection for GAP, both for babies and for girls ages 2 – 14.  It will arrive in stores in March 2012. WWD confirmed the rumors today with this story:

Gap said the collection will be sold at GapKids and babyGap stores in almost 30 countries, including the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, France, China, Japan and Australia, as well as online in 75 countries… Art Peck, president of Gap brand North America, said the collection applies von Furstenberg’s “signature approach to print, optimistic color and femininity, mixed with our expertise in great quality premium children’s clothing at accessible prices.”

The options are not nearly as cute as the SOLD OUT Missoni for Havaianas.  But, if you’re good with paying $35 to pick your own colors and bling, you can go online to havaianas.com and design your own here. This strikes me as a fun if expensive “school’s out for summer” treat for a 10 y-o girl.  Yet another good reason mine’s a boy.

J. Crew just released the PRE-order for their limited edition Prabal Gurung designs – you can see them on site here.  Bows, actually big ol’ “exploding bows,” are the common denominator in the 7 piece collection now available for pre-order.  We understand from the blog-o-sphere that they really do mean limited edition here – some designs supposedly only have 50 pieces in production.  As with J.Crew’s other Collection pieces and designer collabs (Billy Reid at JCrew and the rest of the dozens of designers in JCrew in Good Company), these are not Target type prices, being $200 to $400.  However, since Prabal Gurung can run in the thousands, these aren’t a bad deal for those looking for his esthetic and tailoring at a much lower price than his RTW.
