Wow, Vera Wang to design for David’s Bridal.

Straight to you from The Cut, NY Mag’s fashion blog.  ”Vera Wang will create a bridal collection for David’s Bridal…. stores next spring, beginning with a collection of twenty wedding dresses, with bridesmaids dresses to follow, and possibly children’s wedding attire after that. Gowns will range from $600 to $1,500, with most coming in under $1,200.”  Which sounds like a lot unless you compare that to the price of her regular line which starts at around $4,000 and goes upwards of $25,000.  You can read the whole article here, plus enjoy the snarkfest that is the comments section on The Cut.

when good logo’s go bad

takashi murakami for Louis VuittonAdmittedly, I am completely opposed to logo wear in any form.  OK, maybe the Hermes tie or scarf.  But for you logo totin’, logo gloatin’ divas, the newest collection for Louis Vuitton from japanese artist Takashi Murakami is supposed to be in stores this week - actually today, April 15th, at least in the big, big city.

Now, unlike lots of my friends, I love Murakami.  And I find the most of the non-bag items in this new collection adorable, since I can barely decipher the logo.  Not that I would ever sport a logo bikini in any form on my body.  Or a bikini in any form for that matter.

Bags, beach towels, bathing suits, even some cute, seemingly logo-less wedges.  Check it all out at the best site for lookbooks on the web:  www.nitrolicious.com.lv wedges

gaultier for target - photo from nitrolicious.comWell, I’m not really surprised but I am disappointed in the fabrics of the new Gaultier designs.(Here on   Target.com )  Only at the Stonecrest and the Midtown Targets here in Charlotte.  As of Sunday, 3/7, about 1/2 the items are stocked.  The look is very cute, the prices are great and the construction quality seems ok.  They compromised a bit on the fabrics, but really, what can you expect for $19.99?
