I’ve been testing the NeuLash.

photo credit Neulash (no this is not my eye unfortunately)The lovely ladies at Neiman Marcus gave me a tube of Neulash to try, and despite fears of sprouting cheek hair or turning my blue eyes brown, I have been testing it for almost two months.  Neulash is the more benign version of Latisse - not as many chemicals and risks.  And therefore, at least for me, a much slower lash response. Better safe than sorry ya know.

My Neulash results are subtle, but there has been growth and darkening.   I saw no result for the first 4-5 weeks and had just about given up.   Then, during my morning ritual of staring through mag glasses in the mirror looking for new imperfections to bemoan, I noticed longer, darker, maybe even thicker lashes.  Later that week, my esthetician asked if I’d been using one of the lash enhancers, as my eyelashes looked more full and dark.  Eureka, validation by a professional!

Since then, I’ve been happily applying the Neulash every other day, since I am trying to extend the life of my free sample for as long as possible.  At $150 for a 3+ month tube, it’s an indulgence.  I mean, that’s a lot of pedicures.  But as we age, most of us suffer thinning brows and lashes and this product has made a noticeable difference for me.  Not a change-your-life, spectacular difference, I mean it’s not like my husband is all “turn around bright eyes” or anything.   But, I do see it and I will try to keep it up.   And the growth is almost scary on some of the younger women I’ve seen who’ve used it .

NeuLash Active Eyelash Technology contains bioengineered peptides, hyaluronic acid, biotin, panthenol, licorice extract and other ingredients to promote lash growth. neuLash says it will show results in 30 days by promoting moisture and elasticity in the lashes. It can also be used on the brows.  The formula, according to the manufacturer, has passed safety testing in the U.S. and the European Union. (The EU has stricter standards for cosmetics than the U.S.) A three-month supply costs about $150 at your friendly neighborhood SouthPark Neimans.

FYI,  Here’s a blog review of the most well-known of the Eyelash Enhancers.

Beauty Finds from Rachel Sutherland

So, I’m getting to know some of Charlotte’s Most Stylish these days and Rachel Sutherland, who used to be the editor of the Observer’s Style section, is definitely one of them.  I recently asked Rachel, who strikes me as something of a Product JUNKIE, oh wait, I mean aficionado, for her best bets in Beauty. Here’s what she is loving these days: (more…)

Beauty Faves from The Stylist

shiseido spf lotionLast month Holly Ham clued us in on some of her favorite buys for early spring.  (read that here).  This month, getting us ready for spring break, she has some sunny  beauty reco’s for us.  Which ties in great with the Nordstrom’s Gift With Purchase promo also on scoop this week.  Her Must Have Sunscreen?  SHISEIDO Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion. Works for both face & body (although it’s too pricey for most of our bodies) and is very water resistant with spf 38.   (more…)

Nordstrom Online offers great GWP

nordstroms online beauty gwpNot to complain, but WHY do these stores run different promo’s instore vs online?  I’m sure they have their reasons which can’t have much to do with us, the consumers.  Anywhoooo, I digress.  This is a FAB Gift With Purchase at Nordys online ONLY - a travel kit filled with 11 sample size items when you make any beauty or fragrance purchase of $100 or more.  PLUS shipping is only $5 with the code BEAUTY.  AND you get another Caudalie GWP valued at $60  when you spend an additional $35.  So, that’s $130 in free product when you spend $135 - well $140 with shipping.  (fyi the caudalie gwp is available in stores).  Don’t know what to buy?   Take some tips from The Stylist, also on our site, here.

Polish is Particuliere - ly Chanel again this spring

particuliereThe sell-out color for spring comes yet again from Chanel.  It’s GREY, pale with a hint of taupe,  has been deemed the color of the moment and sells out as soon as it gets to any store.  (Southpark NM had 9 bottles in after a week-long wait, sold them within the day of delivery).  I researched a bit to see if there are some good substitutes for you.  According to my fave nail blog www.alllacqueredup.com there aren’t….tho’ Essie Mink Muffs comes closest.  Michelle at alllacqueredup does a fab review of all 3 of the new spring colors for Chanel, which retail for $23 by the way.  Here are some photo’s, hers and others (note the bracelet tattoos also at Chanel this spring.  Tattoos for legs, arms, necklaces, wrists…there is no end to what this man can get us to pay for….see them here).   more photos  (more…)
