It only happens twice a year, folks, and it’s here.   Black & Blue in Morrison shops marks down lots of their jeans to either $49 or $99….brands like James, Red Engine, Prvicy, Hudson, 7, Habitual….plus select clothing up to 75% off.  The sale starts Friday and runs through Monday, July 5th.  Their flyer is here.

Lurrrve.  Already sold out online in my size in my favorite color combo, the dark pink.  But such a summer find in the other florals or the seersucker (sweet).  The reviewers love them, they are super comfortable, they are priced to fit.  This is what we expect from the folks at Gap.  And we thank them.

The Targe is still large and in charge, with some enticing collaborations with fashion designers slated to hit their stores this fall.  In the past we have sometimes liked the clothing, and sometimes we’ve found the pieces way too chinchy.  Still, worth marking down these dates.

First up…..jewelry by Temple St. Clair for Target. This is almost oxymoronic -  these two names are at such opposite ends of the price spectrum.  But we’ve seen works from several high end clothing designers, so who knows. Fine jewelry designer Temple St. Clair Carr has works often featured in mags like Town & Country and usually deals in heavy gold and large, gorgeous, semi-precious stones.  She’ll unveil her Temple St. Clair for Target jewelry line on Aug. 29 and it’ll stay in Target stores nationwide on online until Dec. 26.  Link to the Temple St. Clair website here.


Next on the calendar is a Tucker collaboration for Go International at Target, planned to launch on Sept. 12 and stay in stores until Oct. 17.  Tucker, by designer Gaby Basora, is known for it’s loose, easy silky tops and dresses in unique, often quite show-stopping, prints.  It’s carried at Poole Shop here in Charlotte and you can check out the styles at the Tucker store online here.




Finally, Mulberry for Target is probably the biggest news of the season and will bring these very insider handbags to the masses on Oct. 10 to Dec. 24, instores and online.  The bargain fashionistas will be stalking these for sure, so we’ll have updates and pics as soon as they hit the blog-o-sphere.

Banana Republic will be launching it’s first designer collaboration in select stores and online this August with a collection by Chan Luu. It’s supposed to be a group of ltd-edition bracelets in four styles and various colors.  With Chan’s signature wrap style in custom-dyed thread or leather and semi-precious stones, gold or sterling silver. The collection is already exclusively sold in Banana Republic’s San Francisco test accessories only store, Edition by Banana Republic. Price range from $95 to $225.

This Watermelon pedicure was featured in beauty news.com last summer and remains one of the most popular items we have ever posted about.  At the NY spa where you could get this pedicure,  you also got a watermelon martini to go with.   Gotta love that.

For a different take on the whole point of painting your nails, Revlon has come out again this summer with SCENTED nail polish.  Their Scents of Summer collection should be in your neighborhood drugstore soon, in summery, shimmery shades scented like fruit, cotton candy.   The scent does last several days and isn’t particularly offensive once applied.  Why anyone needs their nails sniffed is beyond me, but……
