Our Top Spring 2017 Beauty Trends

The spring beauty trends are out!  Are you are ready to have fun with color and style up some bold beauty?   Three key words to remember this season are glitter, ombre, and bright.  We have some beauty trends that will make your head spin, possibly from glitter overload.  Or perhaps it will be from the excitement that you can actually wear some of those bright colors that have been pushed to the back of your makeup drawer.

Oh, and if you’re thinking that glitter is an adolescent look, you’re not alone. But trust me, there is such a thing as grown-up glitter.  It creates a glowing, dewy look without making you look like a Kindergarten art project.

So in no particular order, well ok, maybe my faves are first, here are the best beauty trends of the spring.

Luscious Lips – Glittered, Blurred, and Ombre

This trend is tops on my list, mostly because I keep three to six different shades of lipgloss in my handbag.  So lets talk glittered. It simply means you can pick up a gloss with some shimmer in it or if you are feeling bold, you can put some shimmer powder on top of your gloss. Personally, I love a gloss with some gold glitter flecks in it.  Blurred is quite an interesting trend as well.  It basically means ditch your lip liners and just put your bright lipstick on with no sharp or defined lines.  Easy enough, right?  The ombre lip is probably the one that stands out above the rest and is the trend I will be trying first.  Pick two of your favorite lip colors and put the lighter on first and then go around the edge with the darker of the two.  Then touch your lips together and voila…you have an ombre lip!  Hint – pick shades in the same family to get a true ombre effect.

The Braided Top Knot –

Well, wouldn’t you know it, they have taken two of my favorite hair styles and merged them together.  So however you want to do this look you really cannot go wrong.  You can side, top, or bottom braid your hair, they all will work.  Then just be sure to knot your hair on top of your head to finish off the look.  I love doing this look when I wash my hair and don’t have time to blow it dry.  Bonus – the next day you can just dry shampoo your hair and beach wave it out!

A Deep Side Part –

Say bye-bye to that middle or slightly off-center part and take that part to the max.  Make it dramatic and bold.  With this look you will want to go for a high gloss, very healthy-looking style.  You can start by conditioning all the way to the roots and finish with a shine cream or high gloss product.  The look is simple, elegant, and stunning.

Bronzed Dewy Skin & Eyelids –

You might be thinking, ‘yuck, I really do not want my eyelids to be dewy.’  Don’t worry about that, you can create a dewy look with no moisture via shimmery shadows, grown-up glitters, and bronzers.  The look is where the sun-kissed beautifully bronzed goddess meets the pretty fairy princess.  The result is a combination of soft, shimmery, and just plain girly.  Probably not an everyday look but a gorgeous option for a special event.

Ash Blond & Silver Ombre –

Ombre is here to stay and it has been upgraded to ash hues, including silvery tones.  So last season we went blush and I was unsure of the look and I ended up absolutely loving it.  If I was blonde, I would have totally tried it out.   Although silver is quite unexpected it is nevertheless rich, sophisticated, and perfect for the bold fashionista.

Chrome Bling Nails –

Did you say metallic and mani in the same sentence?  Yes, I love it when I can get a little more “bling” to my everyday look.  All things chrome and metallic are a perfect pick for your next mani/pedi.  So if you really want to go crazy, don’t be afraid to add a little bit of that “bling” to your look.  Anything glittered, jeweled, or flashy is perfectly acceptable.  Let the bling party begin.

80s Vibes –

Pull out your blush shadows and any frosted light watercolor shades as well.  Think 80s dance party meets bold, unstoppable, fierce woman and have some fun.  The more color and eccentric the better.  Yes, I agree this look can be scary and it is simply meant to be fun.  So go have some fun and rock out your inner 80s dance diva.
