This year was over the top for the beauty world. The new technology, serums, potions and lotions make me jump out of bed in the morning. Ok, well maybe after my coffee. For those of you who don’t know, I have been immersed in beauty since my teenage years, and I still get giddy reading the top beauty picks of the year. I love checking off what I have and what I need still need to try. So here we go, after reviewing every list that is out there and lining up all my favs in my bathroom, here are my must-have best beauty buys for 2016….which of course you can use to kick off your 2017:
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer – I really was hoping I would not like this one ~ due to the cost at $399 ~ so of course I loved it. My mom got this dryer over the holidays and I had to try it out. It is simply amazing. It drys my hair in four minutes, leaving it straight, volumized, and silky. It usually takes me around ten minutes to dry my hair, not to mention touching it up with a straightening iron. (and if you do the math, on a per dry, per day basis, you can figure out how to expense this buy!) If you’re intrigued, pop into Neiman Marcus and see one of their beauty specialists. They are great about educating you on products. NOTE: you will find these priced on Amazon.com all over the place, so stick with a supplier you know, like NM when you shop this item.
Baby Foot Deep Exfoliant for Feet Peel – Say hello to your pinch hitter when you can’t get into the nail salon. This little baby is ah-mazing! You can slap these booties on while you watch tv, and bam, over the next few days all your calluses and rough spots peel off and your feet are super soft. Pick this product up locally at Doll. – a boutique.
Rodan + Fields Lash Boost – Y’all I am a little obsessed about my lashes. I have had extensions, dyed them and used all sorts of serums. RF’s new serum hit the market in November and has amazing technology behind it. You will see a dramatic difference in your lash volume and length in less than four weeks. I can not live without it.
Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon by Mabeline – This product sums up my perfect lip; balm & color plus it makes your lips feel like a baby. I am a huge fan as this balm is fool-proof. You can throw it on your lips without a mirror and it looks fab. This one has a permanent place in my diaper bag, haha.
DiorShow Mascara – The ultimate untouchable mascara. This has made all the top beauty lists for years, and will continue to be on mine. I have tried them all; the fibers, lengthening, curling, voluming, waterproof, purple, you name it, and I continually come back to this one. It gives my lashes the ultimate volume boost and has incredible staying power.
Bobbi Brown Corrector – Yes, you must correct your dark circles before you cover them. Bobbi Brown has the perfect steps to achieve a flawless completion. Start with this corrector to brighten up your under eye before you conceal it. It is genius!
Beachwaver S1 Curling Iron – Ever wonder how some people get those perfect beach waves? Wonder no longer, they are in on the Beachwaver secret. This ceramic curling tool rotates to give you the perfect beach wave look and it’s very easy to use. Oh, and by the way, this is what they use for the Victoria Secret models.
Smashbox Photo Matte Eye Palette – I love an eyeshadow that can last all day long, and Smashbox’s formula is luxe, rich, and blends beautifully. This line was originally created for Hollywood make-up artists, and was loved so much that it made its way into the stores. Picking this shadow was obviously a no brainer for me. Who doesn’t want to have Hollywood perfect eyes all day, everyday?
Lush Bath Bomb – If you are looking for an amazingly relaxing experience, pick up a few Bath Bomb’s from Lush. They are exploding with essential oils and will send your body into a tantalizing soak that is sure to get you the rejuv you have been searching for. Oh, and this is one of my favorite treats to pick up for my bestie’s birthday.
