Does it feel like Spring yet?  A sure sign of warmer weather and longer days is a market overflowing with blooms, fresh produce and other local goodies.  And here in Charlotte, we love our farmers markets from urban groceries to roadside stands.  We’ve got the fresh scoop on when and where you can shop your favorites:

Charlotte Regional Farmers Market

You haven’t shopped a farmer’s market until you’ve shopped the at the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market.  Here you can grab the freshest produce from all over the area, local wines, flowers, crafts and artisan goods.  Go early in the day to make sure you get to visit all of the vendors.

King’s Drive Farmer’s Market
939 S. Kings Drive

The roadside market that draws crowds all over the area is officially open for business as of April 3.  As you’re running errands in the Metropolitan or walking along the Greenway, stop at Kings Drive for produce, meat, local jams and all of your gardening needs.  Don’t be intimidated by the parking lot, there are attendants making sure you can get in and out quickly and easily.

Pay a visit to the oldest farmers market in NC dating all the way back to 1937.  Today the Mecklenburg County Market is still running strong and serving up Beverly’s Gourmet Foods, fresh produce and a large variety of tomatoes year-round.

Step into a culinary tour of North Carolina at Atherton Mill.  Talk to local farmers and artisans about their products and stock up on produce, fish, pre-packaged meals and even hand crafted coffee at this Southend favorite.  We hear that some big things are in the works-possibly extended shopping hours and a new market layout, stay tuned!
