What to look for at Belk this spring.
Last Thursday I joined a group of Charlotte fashion bloggers and writers at Belk SoutPark for a Spring preview presented by Vice President of Trend Merchandising and Fashion Direction Arlene Goldstein. A 25 year industry veteran, Arlene always translates the haute & hot national trends into something doable for our everyday lives and wardrobes. She is also one of my favorite sources for clever fashion bites each season.
Arlene usually snapshots the major style statements we need to be on the lookout for each season, both at Belk and elsewhere. She also provides Belk’s interpretation of the Ten Most Wanted Fashion Picks for Women each season. LADY LUXE:
Lace, ruffles, peplums, Fit & Flare dresses, florals, silks, single sole pumps & sandals.
PASSPORT
Global prints and elements, Exotics, tribal, ikat, batik, African, Indian, handcrafted, beading, wood, straw, raffia, tassels, feathers, fringe.
SHARP & CHIC
Geometrics, stripes, black & white, sculptural accessories, East-West shapes, color blocks, architectural looks, statement pieces.
